Some of you may remember my post about Ibrahim Kutluay a while back, and how Iverson, and the staff was interested in him, and we were as well. Seems as if the Sonics are going to grab him, which is a low blow for us. The following is in Turkish but an important part has been translated below. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seattle Supersonics, yıldız basketbolcumuza 2 yıl i?in 4 milyon dolarlık teklif yaptı. Dang... I was hoping Philly would sign him so I could say AI and someone he liked play together, AI and Kutluay(sp?) would have been a good duo but atleast they'll play each other.
He would have been a solid additon but how much playing time would he be able to get on are team,if he is a 2 guard or SF he would have to compete with Salmons Korver,Iggy and all the other guys....he probally wouldnt end up playing a lot of minutes for us.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">as if the Sonics are going to grab him, which is a low blow for us.</div> Agreed. That was a low blow. Kutluay wasn?t even considered to join an NBA team and King or shall I say Iverson came along offered him a spot 76ers, but he decided to join the Sonics instead. That was a real slap in the face imo. I?m still pleased with our current roster, and I don?t believe he would bring this team anywhere they can?t go with or w/o him. But just having the satisfaction that he?s on the team would be great.
Well wasn`t he like 30 years old. We don`t need that high age on are team at the moment, but he sounded like he was a great player.

It?s considered old age in this new era of basketball, where athleticism is at an all-time high, but overall 30 years of age is not that old. At this age, that when players fully adapt to the way basketball is suppose to be played. Some players like Michael Jordan for example play at the peak of their careers around their late 20's to early 30's. So I don?t see what the dilemma is about having him on this team because of his age. Also, remember that this team is filled with young players, so having another ?veteran? to go alongside Iverson, Mckie and some others wouldn't hurt.

Medical science and technology make it possible. I guess we can say the traditional prime years are becoming long now.
