At a reduced salary, of course. This somewhat surprised me. I would have thought Junior would have been 3rd out the door behind Feidler & Konrad.

Konrad costs too much for a FB and is now too offten injured. Do I really need to explain why Jay is gone?

If Saban want to use multiple looks and packages on D then it makes sense for Seau to stay.

Tim Bowens is gone. It surprised me that they want to get rid of Zgonina.

I wonder; does Miami have realistic chance of landing Kendrell Bell? Can you imagine the D if they sign Bell & draft Derrick Johnson? Of couse, Bua and/or Jenkins would have to move to safety.

Kendrell Bell might be a good addition....but if they lose Bowens and Zgonina, then their defensive line will be crap. They are going to lose Freeman and Surtain because for a team that only won 4 games, Surtain and Freeman feel they deserve more money??? lol. So losing Freeman and Surtain will give them a crappy defensive back force, so all they have is Zach Thomas, Junior Seau, and ID SAY Derrick Pope at linebacker. But still, Miami needs to focus on OFFENSIVE LINEMAN, FIRST

I think you guys are going to be really disappointed when you see what Saban does in free agency....hes a Belicheck guy and that means he believes in having a "strong middle class"....I dont think hes gonna make any head turning signings, but i expect him to bring in a lot of players that make between the vet minimum and $1mil a year....thats how the Patriots do it, and I think thats how Saban will do it....

I have been waiting for this off season since Wanny resigned.

I am ready for the what, how, & why Saban will work his magic, but, who will disappear & who will succed them that will shock & astound me.

Saban should do whatever will make Miami go to the Super Bowl THIS YEAR. But apparently he wants to get younger players and build up talent in the FUTURE. I think he should sign key veteran players that will bring us to the playoffs this year. NOT sign rookies who will bring us to the playoffs in 5 YEARS.

Remember, there was a BIG hype about Steve Spurrier, Butch Davis, and Joe Gibbs coaching. And they still did shitty in their first year,

If i were saban i would hold on to the defensive secondary, it was the best in the league last year. It got all the recoginition that a 4-12 team could, which is none, but was better than any other team in the league at defending the pass. The reason the dolphins lost games last year, is simple, jay feidler starting over feeley, no running game, and they were a bit too young on the O-line. The line should be better, they will go into the season with multiple options at RB, Feeley as the starter, and will contend for the playoffs.

BearsFan1 said it. I agree 100%. Keep the defensive players we had, and go for offensive lineman only...if i was them id release ALL of their offensive lineman, along with Fiedler, Konrad, Bowens...and get a bunch of good veterans on the offensive line, and then they will be playoff contenders. I mean HEY, only two teams beat the New England Patriots last year....Pittsburgh Steelers and the MIAMI DOLPHINS!

I dont think they should go get lineman, they line they had last year played better as season went along, keep the group intact, it is young, and will only get better.

This is probably a dumb question, so dont make fun of me for it, lol....but seeing as how Wes Welker seems to be one of the fastest, most agile players on the team...why isnt he a starting receiver, or hell....even a starting runningback. The guy is as fast as a jet!

i saw the salary list....and why the hell is Olinda Mare one of the highest paid players on the Dolphins? Why does a Kicker earn more money then everyone else?? Maybe to save money they should take away some of his pay...all he does is make a few kicks a game.

Straight line speed is great for returns, and the go route. He probably runs bad routes, and does not catch well in traffic. He is not a back, becuase he could not take the pounding.

He is probably a cap casuality if that is the case. He was signed to this deal back when he was still making kicks. Now he is average at best in the kicking game.

Mare is very likely to be cut....I know the team has taken a strong interest in OH St Kicker Mike Nugent(along with the rest of the league)....The O-line is a young group and they will come together....actually, the whole offense is full of young talented players, the only real question marks on that side of the ball are at QB and RB....I expect them to draft the back with the #2 overall pick and if Feeley becomes as good as he could be, the offense will take a major step forward with little to no addition from free agency....the defense needs help though....Bua will be moving to safety....I know hes a hell of a hitter back there(did anyone see the hit he laid on the guy on that punt return last year, WHAM is the only word to describe it)....I wonder about his speed though....DT is the biggest weakness on defense right now and should be addressed....its because of that weakness that I suspect they may trade down on the 1st round for 2 picks, then take a back like Cadilac Williams and a DT/DE like Marcus Spears....a swap with the Cowboys or Chargers is possible and would net a couple of 1sts, if those teams are intereseted in a top 5 player....

I was at that Game! Where Bua laid out Two Rams players at the same time! One of the best hist iv'e seen in a long time. I say the Phins should hold on to Seau not just because of his talent but for his leadership.

I still cant imagine you getting 2 1sts for your pick. Not in this draft, maybe a 1st and a second. I doubt you will get the value that pick would normally get

Well, if there is a negative way to spin something, you will sure as hell find it and stick it into everyones face....its because of this unique talent you possess that I will disregard what you say and wait and see....

Lets examine this negative spin i have put forth in this thread:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I dont think they should go get lineman, they line they had last year played better as season went along, keep the group intact, it is young, and will only get better</div>.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If i were saban i would hold on to the defensive secondary, it was the best in the league last year. I can see how me saying the dolphins were going to be a lot better on the line, QB position, and RB position, plus that they would contend for the playoffs is real negative. I guess like everyone else on this forum if anyone says one thing you dont like you jump thier shit unreasonably. Reminds me of . . . well, me! Keep up the good work.

My above contention, that you will always find something negative to slam into the faces of any other human you are near, has no more to do with this particular posting, than any other aspect of communication we have enjoyed over the time I have been privlegded to know you....Over the course of time, it has been established that when there is a nay to be said, you will likely be there yelling it and dancing a jig for emphasis....It is because of this unending stream of "nay" that I had to establish the "insert your real name here" quotient(for those that arent familar, to get the actual level of anything, reduce what he says to 65% of the statement)....I will apply the quotient here as usual....meaning, they arent likely to be a playoff team, but they might get within 35% of the required winning percentage to get in....

Then there is nothing left to say.
