Arroyo is only the second Puerto Rican athlete to be signed as spokesperson for the sports drink. The first was baseball great Roberto Clemente, who starred in a Gatorade TV commercial in 1971.
Arroyo recently also signed a four-year, $16 million contract to remain with the Jazz. Before he begins training for his fourth season in the NBA on Sept. 30, Arroyo traveled to his home island to formalize the Gatorade deal.</div>

$16 Million dollar deal, carrying of the Puerto Rican flag at the Olympics and now he's got a deal with Gatorade. Not a bad offseason for Carlos, and the Jazz.

Hey, thats great for Carlos, now he is up with other gatorade athlete's like Yao Ming, Peyton Manning, Mia Hamm, and the evil Michael Jordan. Its great to see him getting all of this pub, lets just hope he can live up to it.

He is a great player and will have an astounding career. But I think Gatorade named the wrong foreign player, spokesperson. I think they should have chosen Manu Ginobili since he plays in a bigger market in San Antonio and he won the gold medal. But I guess Arroyo has that urban apeal and that is what is selling right now. i won't be surprised to see him crossing up A-Statt ona one of there ad campaigns.
