he used to dunk all the time...back in the day before he was all thugged out lol oh the days when he was a clean cut dunking chap
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MavsJ33:</div><div class="quote_post">The only player I know of that's in the NBA that can't dunk is Travis Best. And that was never his style anyway. And there was one more, that I can't remember of right now.</div> Earl Boykins? Though I guess Spudd was shorter then him. There's gotta be tons others though. Iverson doesn't dunk anymore becuase he barely can. He's got one of the biggest hearts in the game, but that fearless heart has given him plenty of injuries and his broken down body can't get up like it used to. Too bad. Doesn't Dwayne Wade kinda remind you of an old AI? I wonder why I haven't seen many comparisons yet.
i still believe that iverson has some hops left in him, he just chooses to use it sparingly. the link provided below is one of his dunks from as early as last season against the kings, one of his better dunks in a long time. http://www.nba.com/media/sixers/iverson_160_031031.avi

Bogues is the one that was 5'3 just in case you were thinking that. And AI can still dunk with somewhat ease. He just doesn't throw it down hard anymore and he was saying his legs aren't what they use to be. BTW, has anyone ever seen Steve Nash dunk? Not dissing him or anything, but he does WNBA layups. He doesn't even jump on some of them. I use that too even though I can dunk pretty easily myself. The WNBA 1 inch off the ground layup.
^it's in Schick Rookie Game in 1997's All-Star. I remember that he missed the Slam Dunk Contest because of a shouder injury or anything? Kobe won the title at last. I don't konw, but I'll say AI got a chance to beat kobe in the contest.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Doesn't Dwayne Wade kinda remind you of an old AI? I wonder why I haven't seen many comparisons yet.</div> I agree. When I see him play it gives me shades of a younger Iverson. Mainly, when he explodes to the basket and just blow by defenders. And just his willingness to win, is that gives me the impression of a younger Iverson. However, Dwayne Wade is much more durable and his body could absorb more injury before its starts breaking down like Iverson?s. Also, he is 6-foot-4, so down the road when he losses his hops, he will still be able to do dunk with ease.

Lebron, Ricky, and Helicopter does theirs in games and their's looks better. Most likely because they jump 4 to 8 inches higher then Kobe.

HE got hung on the rim, but if he had connected on that, I don't think anybody (that year) would've beaten him because that dunk was unprecedented at the time. Remember, you have to look at it in terms of then, not now. And I know a lot of you guys are thinking: "He got hung on the rim because he can't do it." I don't know why he got hung on the rim that time, but I definitely know he can do it. I've seen him make that dunk before. Right after the lockout ended, they gave out free tickets to their intrasquad game to "apologize to the fans." Since it was free, I went. He was putting on a show during warmups and he did that dunk (pass-to-self between-the-leg) . Strangely enough, I saw Tyronn Lue dunk too.. I thought he was a dunker when I saw that, but sicne then, I've never seen him dunk in an actual game thus far. At any rate, Darvin Ham was robbed that year. Kobe shouldn't have even made the 2nd round IMO.

And yeah people didn't even seem to understand what Darvin Ham was doing. I only can remember one of his dunks though and he got a low score. But that one where he touched the backboard with his left and paused for a split second. Then threw it down with his right. Me and my teammates in HS all agreed that Ham got robbed.
I just assumed you knew that Boykins couldn't dunk and I didn't think I had to say him. I know some people who know Mugsey since he lives near me, and they say he has major ups.
Muggsy Bogues was underrated IMO. He didnt do very well his first year but all 8 years after he averaged more than 8 apg. 2 years he averaged over 10 apg but still never played a single allstar game. My short buddy right there BACK TO THE SUBJECT: Iverson can still dunk without a doubt. He dunked in Athens this year I believe..correct me if im wrong. Newayz...I always have remembered that dunk that Iverson did against the Sonics... his rookie year I think. Some dude off the Sonics was at the line shooting his free throws and the 2nd one he missed and Iverson came runnin from the halfcourt line and dunked it in kinda like Jordan did that one time. Detlef Schrempf was just standing there lookin at his teammate all mad. I thought that was cool haha.

I don't see any similaritie at all excpet they're both point-shooting guards. Wade has more power to his game, is very quick, but it's as quick, is taller, bigger, maybe more durable, but he was injured a lot last season. He also doesn't have Iverson's handles, and his slashing game isn't the same as Iversons. Wade drives and does hooks and short jumpers, and Iverson drives to do layups and draw fouls.
Yea I definitely think theres no comparison between the two. Iverson is way more experienced and just plays way different than Wade. I also doubt that Wade could beat him in a game of one-on-one no matter how old AI is because 29 aint even close to being old when we've got a strong Karl Malone still playing in the league at over 40. AI will have to teach Wade like he did last year in the game they played where he scored almost 40 on him.

He played for the Denver Nuggets,it was his rookie year. And despite breaking the glass at Texas Tech, he wasnt overly known in college either. Jason Sasser was the star of Texas Tech. Anyway, if that was Vince Carter, 3 or 4 years later the arena goes crazy despite them not exactly understanding what he was trying to do. To be honest the crowd didnt really understand what VC was trying when he put his elbow thru the rim, but they still went crazy. Darvin Ham was a nobody, so his dunk didnt get the respect it deserved.

I kinda thought he did but it was so long ago and I've only seen it on that day so I barely remember anything now. I didn't even realize that Ray Allen participated in it too till a couple years later. The dunk with VC putting his elbow in the rim jaws dropped. Well mostly Batman Michael Keatons jaw dropped. O and Steve Francis jaw dropped too. I was thinking can't he do that himself. The crowd went into silence and was going crazy inside and Isiah was just laughing from being amazed from 4 dunks he has never seen before.

I read in a book about Nash that he dunked during a pre-draft workout for the Pacers back in 1994. It went on to say the Pacers coahes were more than a little surprised. It said he dunked off a one-leg jump. I don't think he has ever dunked during a NCAA or NBA game though.
^O I'm a little bit surprised by that. Can't tell with the way he lays it up. He's really 6'1 right? I seen him standing next to Cherly Miller who's 6'3 that's what Nash listed himself as but she was pretty much taller then Nash. Then during Steve Kerrs last year he started listing himself as 6'1 but he really was 6'3. Weird.
