We drafted Emmitt I believe with the 35th pick in the second round. We then traded Emmitt to the Grizzlies for a future second round pick (I believe next year's). I assumed that one of the major reasons why they made the trade was b/c they thought highly of Dave Young.
I just don't see why Seattle would resign Ray Allen. Why give up so much for a scoring gaurd with no defense who gets injured and whines WHEN WE HAVE FLIP! Flip is younger. Honestly if we were to give up either Ray or Flip I would take the younger guy contracts aside. Now add the fact that we would have to pay a LOT more for an extra 3 points a game that will get injured again anyways is ludacris. Daniels, Young, and Ibo could back up flip just fine so why is this even a question? We got our shooters, drivers, and slashers, so all we need now is a big man. Elton Brand also PLAYS DEFENSE. I don't see why Ray is worth so much. The league is gonna get so overflowed with legit sg's while the big men stay rare. RESIGN FLIP, TRADE RAY. I hope that Ibo makes RAY the odd man out.

Ray is the best shooter on a jump shooting team. Without him (and Barry), the Sonics might implode shooting-wise on any given night. We'd have to get a player that changes the entire makeup of the team in return. I agree that they should trade Ray and give Ronald a chance, but saying he's not one of the elite players in the league is ludicrous. Also, the Clippers would have to be insane to trade Brand for Allen when they have Kittles and Maggette, so I'm not sure why you brought him up.
Maggete can play sf and Kittles is horrible. Jaric :thumbsdow Allen  Maggete  Wilcox  Ely  BETTER Rid/murray/daniels :thumbsdow murray/daniels/Ibo  Lewis/Radman/Ibo  Brand/Collison/Fortson  Pot/James/Fortson :thumbsdow BETTER the trade lets both Murray and Wilcox out of their cages.
I would love to get my hands on either Brand or Wilcox, but considering Ely went to the Bobcats and they didn't draft a big guy in the draft after trading pick two, I don't see why they would trade either player. Particularly for Ray, who is out of contract next season and wants a big extension.
