Vince, or any other NBA players should not have a say as to which team they would like to get traded to. They have no right to force a trade unless they are in their contract year and Carter should not whine even if he gets traded to a western conference team or a team that doesn't have a chance of making the playoffs because it's Vince himself who wanted to be traded, not the Raptors who wanted him gone. As long as the Raps become a better team from the trade I don't care a thing about how Vince will do in his "so desired new team". Oh by the way, didn't you guys notice an irony in what Vince said? He says he wants to play as a Knick but he also says "It's time for me to take care of me" which translates to 'It's time for me to move on, and play for a team that has a chance of making a noise in the playoffs'. Pshh... He wants to play for a contender but he wants to be traded to the Knicks? Put that crack down Mr. Carter
First of all I can't seem to bring myself to really bash Carter. How many big shots have we watched him hit for the Raps over the years? How many games has he literally carried the team to victory? He's played hurt way more times than he should have for the good of the team. As a Raps fan I'd like to thank Vince for all good things he has done while he has been in TO. Why does he want to really be traded? Who knows. Maybe his new wife doesn't like living in TO. Maybe he's tired of playing for a team that has one hell of a time bringing in good free agents. Maybe he's tired of playing for a team that has made some bad roster moves over the past few years. Maybe he's bored of playing for a new coach every season. Maybe he doesn't want to play the last 3 seasons of his contract for a team that really has little direction right now (just being honest). Maybe he's tired of being the NBA's Canadian ticket draw. Maybe he's tired of playing in a city that only follows sports teams that are winning (blue jay fans and maple leaf fans will understand what I mean here).
^ Well tough...he signed a contract and he has to honour that contract. It's tough making 14 million a year isn't it? How about if the Raptors ripped up his contract when he hurts himself again and say that they don't want him and his contract anymore? His (former) fans (myself included) have stuck with him all these years when his career wasn't going well and now he wants to leave because things aren't going well? It's a slap in the face to all the fans who've supported him through all this. Quite franky, I don't care what he does with the rest of his career anymore. He doesn't deserve to play for us. Other players on the Raps might not be as skilled as Vince but at least they want to play for us. I'd much rather spend my time supporting a player that appreciates and deserves it. I'm moving on.
i cant really be mad at him because toronto is going no were and he has been caring this team for a while and he just wants a chance to compete with a contending team and get a title. anyways u cant fake a injury because the trainers check on u and the trainers work for the team so that cant say a lie and i no this because i have a friend who nos a trainer for the nets
Trade Idea i kno alot fo people wont like this trade, shoot, i dont even like it that much. but vince obviously wants to win. so send him somewhere where he can win and we can get something in return. i would send him to dallas, in return for Jerry Stackhouse. now, alot of ppl dont like stackhouse, im not that big of a fan either. but he is a starter anywhere in this league, remember he averaged 29.9 pointsabout 2 or 3 seasons bak wen placed as the go-to guy. basically won 32 games for the pistons single handedly. Vince value and stackhouses have both went down significantly. but truth be told, we cant Pierce for carter, we cant get t-mac for carter. we have tog o for what we can get. and stackhouse is realistic. stackhouse hear would average a solid 20 points guarenteed.and stackhouse wants to prove he is still a starter. what a better place to do it, then a troubled franchise in starting spot situations. i would do it. carter doesnt wanna play in the west. oh well. suck it up, he screwed our franchise because he doesnt wanna have patience, well its time for toronto, to look out for toronto
Toronto trades: SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.1 minutes) PF Donyell Marshall (14.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 36.5 minutes) PG Roger Mason (3.7 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.0 apg in 12.7 minutes) Toronto receives: SG Eddie Jones (17.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.2 apg in 37.0 minutes) PG Dwyane Wade (16.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.5 apg in 34.9 minutes) SG Wesley Person (5.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: -1.5 ppg, -6.0 rpg, and +1.5 apg. Miami trades: SG Eddie Jones (17.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.2 apg in 37.0 minutes) PG Dwyane Wade (16.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.5 apg in 34.9 minutes) SG Wesley Person (5.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17.9 minutes) Miami receives: SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 73 games) PF Donyell Marshall (14.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 82 games) PG Roger Mason (3.7 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26 games) Change in team outlook: +1.5 ppg, +6.0 rpg, and -1.5 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Toronto and Miami being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Toronto and Miami had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Its an intresting trade but miami prolly wouldn't bite.
Erm... Stackhouse for Carter? Are you out of your mind? I'd rather have disgruntled Carter than Stackhouse. Oh and Carter doesn't want to win. If you read the article, you'd have noticed that he first says something along the line of "It's time for me to take care of me, it's not about the city or the fans, it's about me wanting to WIN" and then he goes on to say "I wouldn't want to get traded to a western conference team and I wouldn't mind playing for the Knicks" What does that say about Carter's intelligence? Knicks are going to be the laughing stock of the NBA for at least 2~3 more seasons and Carter wants to play for the Knicks? Give me a god damn break.
thats tuff because it depends on the ownership. If you have owners that want to win you would try your best to get vince out of there. but if you want to punish vince you make him stay, your season will be wack but there is a chance hell shut up and just play ball.
Stackhouse is even more injury-prone than Carter, and also has knees older than Carter's. In other words, there'll be no chance that Stackhouse will be in a Raptors uniform.
who says we have to satisfy is desire to be on a good team? We could still trade him but he has no choice about what team he goes to. I still we should send him to a crappier team for a good player and draft picks (ATL, LAC, CHI, SEA, GS). I personally want to see him play in the Western Conference, because if he wasn't voted in by the fans, he wouldn't even make the All-Star team.
^ thats very true, i cant see vince getting voted or picked as a allstar in the western conference since vc is listed as a forward.
lol... stackhouse, i'd rather trade him for steve nash or even atawn jamison, anyways why wud we be so stupid as to trade him to a team in the east? espicailly the knicks, theyre in our division, we wud suck enough if he got traded to the west but trading him to sum east team would make us look even worse.
For the second deal, that won't happen Miami won't be willing to give up Dwyane Wade. And for the first one I don't see Toronto trading a falling star for a falling star. And I'm not sure if Toronto would be willing to give up Donyell Marshall and VC, in the same deal.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinKanaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">"I wouldn't want to get traded to a western conference team and I wouldn't mind playing for the Knicks" What does that say about Carter's intelligence? Give me a god damn break.</div> Yo, look at your team(toronto raptors) before u talk about another team thats better(knicks)! (and we will see who everyone is gonna laugh at for the next 2-3 years)
Stackhouse is like cancer in the lockerroom, why do you think Detroit and Washington got rid of him.... He was doing good in Detroit. yadayada , Bringing an old aged stackhouse up here is just plain dumb, unless we are getting Marquis Daniels or Josh Howard with him... and the VC for Stack trade wouldn't work under the cap
Hah, I would love to see Vince in Houston back with his cousin. That would be quite a trio. Tmac, Vince and Yao.
