Vince Carter has finally made the rumors of his trade demand an official reqest, and he let the media know through his website. ESPN - Carter Demands Trade
What a whiner. He needs to grow up. I wouldn't even want a player like that on my team personally. Complaining cause his team is going through a rebuilding stage. Quite frankly, every team goes through them. The Lakers, in an aspect, are going through a rebuilding stage, did that change where Kobe signed, no. He stayed true to his words when he said he wanted to be a Laker for life. Now Carter is going back on his when he said he wanted to be a Raptor for life. If I were the Raps, I'd trade him. He's done them no good at all over the last few seasons. He's been hurt constantly, and even when he's healthy, his team has still lost consistently. He's one of the worst court leaders in all of basketball, and in my opinion, the MOST overrated player in the league. If I were Babcock, get rid of him asap. He said he wants to honor Carters contract, well, by keeping him there, it's just adding a cancer to your team. You don't want someone who doesn't want to play there on your team, at least if I was a GM I wouldn't. Get rid of him.
yo i second your opinion dude. i am a raps fan and this guy is killin us. when you have to looj to guys like micheal curry for leadership you are in trouble. i am not even lookin for a lot for him. put him in a nice package deal with someone like alvin or lamond for two or three solid players that want to play, then i am happy. Bosh listen up...IT' YOUR TIME TO SHINE!!!
Blame Canada! It is no wounder - who would whant to live in the land of Terance and Filip? I can understand Vince, he does not what to be another Melone, Payton or Barkley, who have nover won anything...

But...Barkley and Malone have done alot for the NBA, with the exception of migrating to championship-caliber teams. Carter is trying to kill the Raptors at this point...you can't keep a guy who doesn't wanna play for his team, simple as that.
^ i want to live in canada...infact it is a great country....so there is nothing to blame... and what do u mean he does not want to be malone or payton or barkley? these guys are superstars who are in the hall of fame or will be...
man this hurts coming from a vc fan......oh well as long as the raps get something good out of the trade then its alright. my biggest fear though is vince coming back to toronto only to see him dunk on bosh wearing another uniform
I dont even want to comment on this... I just hope Babcock still doesnt budge as it relates to getting equal or greater value for Vince. It'll be sad to see him go, but ill get over it. I really did think we were playoff contenders though, so I hope that after the trade for Vince we have more depth on our team. And now that Vince wants to leave, its time for Morris Peterson to really step up. But, Vince has to honour his contract untill it expires, so let him play, play well, and we'll get more for him.
o well, at least we wont b ripped off from what babcock has said and hes still under contract for another 4 years so he gotta b played or not get payed.

By that time, he'll be what, 32, something like that. He won't be worth nearly as much to your team by then. To me, he's not worth that much as it is. I think trade him off right now, get something pretty good in return, and free up some cap space while you're at it.

By no means would I want Carter to play out his contract if he doesnt want to be here. But, untill we get the rite deal for him, hes gotta honour his contract. And the better he plays, the more teams will be interested. So its in Vince Carters best interest to play, and to play well.
See, I thought that you meant that you wanted him to play out his contract, so apparently there was some confusion. But I agree, it is in his best interest to play and play well. It'll help his stock and might make more teams interested.
I think he caught onto the illness that all NBA players are having this summer: The "I Wanna be Traded fromt this Team Because they're in the rebuilding proccess or I don't get enough playing time or I'm just tired of this city" flu. Wow thats a mouthful. But note that Carter is still a vaaluable asset to any team he plays on.
Uh wtf moo? I made a thread about Vinces trade demands going public and u LOCK IT UP but then here comes this one and you do nothing to it? Look you even posted....wtF? Seriously this pissed me off...I would like to know why you did what you did.

I hope we get someone good for him

As much as I have heard it is normal country. Still I don't see Raptors going for title of the NBA in next 5 years. 5 years is almost 1/2 of NBA player carrier, and maybe Vince does not whant to get Raptors once again in play-offs. I think he has motivation problems, at thats why he is playing so bad latley. Raptors should try and get some normal player for him, and few draft picks, or just 1st round draft picks!

Kobe just signed a new contract, and "rebuilding" with Lamar Odom, Payton, Grant and Caron Butler would not be viewed as a bad thing in any respects, that was the Heat lineup except Eddie Jones - Kobe and Wade - Payton, so it's not even considered rebuilding. Now if you said Paul Pierce, then that actually makes sense, he's stuck through thick and thin, but Kobe? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And now that Vince wants to leave, its time for Morris Peterson to really step up.</div> yea like that's going to happen.

Now if you said Paul Pierce, then that actually makes sense, he's stuck through thick and thin, but Kobe? </div> See, I'm looking at this in a different perspective than you. I realize that the Lakers still have a lot of good players this year, but, I don't believe that they're going to be the same team. When they lost Shaq, they lost the one man that made the ultimate difference for them in a game. If you look at their record with him and without him over his 7 year tenure in Los Angeles, the Lakers do not fare nearly as well without him. Now the Lakers did add some good talent, but, to me, they won't be nearly as good next year. When they lost Shaq, they lost the one player that made them so good. They went from a team that was championship calibur, to a team that at best, I think can only get the 4th or 5th seed this coming season. That's why I consider it "rebuilding" in a way. They're still good, but, they lost the thing that made them so dominant. So, in a way, they are rebuilding, they're taking a different route than years before. But, they're not rebuilding the way that the Celtics, Clippers, Suns, Bulls, etc., are. I hope you understand where I was coming from now. EDIT: One last thing that I didn't mention, I'm not sure if you realize this, but Payton is GONE. He's not a Laker anymore. I'm only saying this cause you mentioned his name when you commented about my rebuilding thought.
