<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One last thing that I didn't mention, I'm not sure if you realize this, but Payton is GONE. He's not a Laker anymore. I understand where you're coming from, but these other guys are complaining about rebuilding that makes them out of the playoffs or at most 7th or 8th seed. I don't think too many players will complain about partial rebuilding that has your team at 4th or 5th seed, esepcailly when they wanted their own team in the first place <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">raptors have a LOT of potential with rafer coming into his prime, bosh on his way to becomming a superstar, and a pure scorer like vince. those are some good componants to build around. raps arent in that bad of shape</div> I really don't think Rafer will be as good as some might expect, not that he'll be bad, but not better Arroyo or someone like that. Vince and Bosh were the X-Factors this season in terms of at least making the playoffs, with Vince whining like a child, if he doesn't play good, then we go nowhere.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post"> yea like that's going to happen.</div> Dont hate, Mo Pete's got game. Hes showed a lot of promise over his years, and when hes been relied on hes played well. He just doesnt seem to be that effective off the bench.

I thought he's average like 17 PPG, then he average 0.1 more points than the previous year, and shoots 39% from the field. MoPete can't even create his own shot, and he's so wild when he drives.
Well if Carter wants out it would be great to see him go to a team that has a chance of winning a championship.
I dont think hes whining but what goes around comes around if he wanted to he could have had a hand in getting tmac to stay in toronto but he just kept qiuet about it and they traded their dynasty away. Vince and Tmac? that s the next best thing to mike and scottie.
Yeah...Vince did better the 1st year they were apart though. But still.....shoudlv'e stayed together. Cousin and Cousin. How would vince fit on the blazers? I know we are looking for a superstar. We've not had one since Clyde.
mayne if vince gets traded i unno just wait to see if he does and see the out come we dont know n e thing until something actually goes through
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AA13:</div><div class="quote_post">Well if Carter wants out it would be great to see him go to a team that has a chance of winning a championship.</div> wtf!? why??? why would it be great to see carter go to a championship contending team. what has vince ever done that merrits him a shot at a ring? i can think of a dozen players who should get a ring before vince. as far as im concerned, it will only be great to see vince go to a team that gets the raptors a bonafied superstar in return.
for 3 spectacular seasons and soooo many memories and unforgetable highlights and bringing his team within 1 shot of beating the sixer powerhouse and becoming THE most popular player in the NBA for a 3 year period.....I think Vince deserves a SHOT at a ring, dont you? (you dont have to answer that)
Just imagine the T-Mac and VC combination. Boy it wouldve been a Raptors Lakers finals for sure. Dont forget they traded away Damon Stoudemaire as well. Imagine being in a 3 on 1 situation with those 3 running the fast break. Mcgrady to Carter to Stoudemaire to Carter FOR THE 360 WINDMILL ALLEY OOP OFF THE BACKBOARD TO MCGRADY FOR THE SLAM!!!! Im gettin excited thinkin bout it! Vince will stay with the raptors but for how long. Its in his best interest to play on and play well. I think he will play like he is 18 again and we will see some VC of old to make any team in the NBA want to have him. Then he will go. But go where? Be nice to see Shaq, Wade and Carter together. Theres some space in Dallas now that nash and walker are gone. Maybe Orlando might need a player of VC's ability to help out Francis. What about a Laker deal? Or even Memphis? The possibilites are endless but we have to remember he isnt a free agent. The raptors will want someone or alot of players that will cover his loss and finding that now is a huge job. Not many teams will want to trade him because of the injuries he has had over the past 2 seasons. Well it definetly confuses me what he will do we will have to wait and see.
Coming from a Laker fan, I don't want to see Vince Carter there. Granted that could be one of the most entertaining fast breaks in the world in Carter and Kobe got in a 2 on 1, but, I don't want it. It'll have a clash of egos and all that crap, and I'm sick of having those kind of off the court problems. So, to me, Carter would do the Lakers no good.
I wonder how much of this relates to the fact that there is a lot of commercial money available due to the fact that kobe is out of the advertisement stakes?

(you dont have to answer that)</div> 3 seasons? he deservs a ring because of 3 seasons? regardless of how many great highlites he's provided that hardly qualifies as paying dues and deserving of a ring. by your logic, paul pierce is just as deserving of a ring or a shot at it vince brought the team to within one shot of going to the eastern conference finals. whoopteedoo. many raptor fans are stuck in the pased. that hardly qualifies as an accomplishment. 2nd round of the playoffs once in a career hardly jumps someone into deserving of a ring or again a shot at it so he's popular? so what? he doesnt deserve a shot at a ring anymore then KG, steve nash, or plenty of other players. and especially not now with his cry baby "me first" attitude. if anything he deservs to remain on a garbage team where he's the first option and center of attention but not winning. so do answer your question, no...i dont think he deservs a shot at a ring anymore then a whole slew of other nba players
I would really like to see magloire in a raps uniform. If we can trade Vince for Magloire and some guys that had big contracts we would be set.
I think a trade with New Orleans will eventually go down. Not right now though. Babcock is smart, Vince is just trying to demand like all the other 'superstars' did but Babcock is tough, I like him. It's not Carter's team. That punk better sit down, shut up and play. After all the way Toronto fans have supported him through thick and thin, this is how he responds? Give it a chance you whiner, this year could be something. That's been our motto for the past 3 years but I truly believe the Raptors can do well again. As for Vince's thoughts, I don't really care for them. They are usually stupid and un-thought of anyways (i.e- Dont draft Bosh, he said that based on absolutely nothing) Wow, way to increase your rep Vince. What a baby. Fact- he'll shut up and sit down and play till Babcock finds equal value. If he wants to whine then whine, you'll lose the little respect you have. I would understand if Paul Pierce demanded a trade but Carter? You shouldn't be the one DEMANDING a trade, it should be the management BEGGING teams to trade for such an underachieveing player with no work ethic. Someone who hasn't done squat but get injured and have sub-par, lower then potential season since 2001. I had a lot of respect for Vince but this trade demand is just uncalled for. Suck it up and play. He does NOT NOT NOT deserve a championship by any means. What has he done that's so great? You could atleast say before that he "stayed loyal" but you know that's not true anymore. "I wanna be a Raptor for life"- 2001 "I want to look out for myself"- 2004 What a clown. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Blame Canada! Carter has put Toronto on the map as a basketball city. Carter brought life up here, id it wasn't for him they're wouldnt have been much as fans there is today. I heard somewhere Carter would hold out if he wasn't traded, that would be a b*tch ass move in my opinion. He has to understand Babcock will only trade him to improve the team, and that will take time. If he had requested the trade publicly earlier, the raptors could of dealt him for another legitimate franchise player.
If a trade with the Hornets happen.... it could be Mash/Magloire for Marsh/VC.... type trade i see happening, tho every1 wants BDiddy for VC
