I think this is a good signing by them. Give em some veteran leadership. This is a young team and I think they really needed him. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, I believe just his prescence there will make a difference for those players.

I think this is a very good move for the Cats. Smith is a good guy that can help lead the young guys. I'm not sure how much game he's got left, but he's still got some and he'll definetely be a good influence in the lockerroom.

Smart move for the young organization to put a character guy around all those young players.

Good signing. Steve Smith can still play and give 20 minutes a night with an accurate deadly shot and veteran leadership along with that. However, I expect him to take a backseat to the younger players on the team. Though Kapono and Smith on the floor at the same time could be deadly to opposing teams.

Now this makes two Steve Smiths in Charlotte...

^Too bad one's out with a broken leg. [IMG] Anyway, good signing by the 'Cats. I thought this would've been the last place we would've wanted to come, but to good to see him join the team. [IMG]

Yeah, I watched Smitty back in 2000 when he was here in Portland. He is such a classy guy and a pure shooter. He will be a great addition.

Naw, his body cant hold up over a 82 game season, playing the minutes needed for him to average 14ppg. And he will also be a defensive liablity at times. But Smitty can still shoot the rock & catch serious fire from time to time. And have you thinking he is playing in ATL for the Hawks, again. But for the most part, he is thier to provide veteran leadership.

This should be a good signing for them, they need/needed some veteran leadership and he'll bring that. There a fairly young team with a bunch of rising stars, but no solid veterans to help them out.

This was a decent signing for a new team with a lot of young players. I think that he is going to be a big influence on this young Bobcats team.

Don't underestimate what Smitty has left in the tank. He almost single handedly lifted the Hornets past the Heat in game seven of their first round series. Smitty is a winner and I wouldn't be surprised if he was very productive as a Bobcat.
