"In this month's issue of SLAM Magazine, Pacers forward Ron Artest says he should have been MVP. "We had the best record and I was the best player on the team. I felt that I should have at least been talked about for it." Can't wait to hear what Jermaine O'Neal thinks about that. "

Was found on yahoo sports. This is all there is to it.

He's playing right?, I am a HUUUGE FAN OF DEFENSIVE PLAY, And Ron Artest IS THE BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE, But MVP?, What the ***** id this guy talking about now?, He SERIOSULY is on crack to say something like that, Jermaine O'Neal was the ONLY mvp valuable player on that team last year, Sorry Ron Ron, But because of your HORRIBLE playoff performance against pistons, You helped indiana LOSE, Stop yo whining fool, The only award you deserve is "MIP" Most INTOLERABLE player award, Peace

Man I think he was completely misquoted. The man is crazy but I don't think he is crazy enough to say he's the best player on the team. Probaly trying to start some friction between him and J-Oneal. Besides I think he realizes when the Sonics had the best record in 94, Shawn Kemp or GP didn't win MVP themselves. But it didn't help getting knocked out in the first round by the Nuggets either.

I think he had a shot last year i think hes tired of these guy with one dimentional games being called mvp calliber players when he works so hard on both ends of the court. Artest can guard and hold down any guard in the league. he blocks Kobes fadeaway consistently and he is so strong no guard can stop him from scoring. i think artest is the best all around guard behind kobe. if his 3 was more consistent he would be even better.

I understand when Peja was getting MVP cred, that he's a one dimensional
player, very good at that one dimension though. But wouldn't really call
KG a 1D guy. Or Duncan, or his teammate, O'Neal Jr.
And damn, didn't he get Defensive MVP? Well heck, if I were a stopper like
him, I'd be prouders of that award than anything else.

artest wasnt talking about the bigmen the bigmen win mvp 90% of the time. he was comparing himself to other guards. thats why hes not dissing O'neil. when you watch a game with tmac playing they will talk about him being a mvp calliber player but the fact is he 0 defence . or if you watched sacs games they would talk about Peja hes also only an offencive player. if you like kobe you should like artest because they are almost the same player.and what i mean by this is they can both score and they both play defence well. and they both never give up. kobe is just more passionate about scoring and artest is more passionate about defence. and thats what separartes them from jordan he was equally passionate about offence and defence.

I dont think he should have been mvp but he could have been in the running possiably, since a one deminsonal player like Peja was a canidate then I guess Ron should have been a canidate to,its probally because he is the #2 option in Indiana so he gets overlooked a lot of the time.
