The topic is about defense a personal level one at one, San Antonio have Bowen, Indiana Artest, etc. so here are some doubts that I have:

Question 1: Which was the last defensive player that de Golden State Warriors have?

Question 2: I try to remember the name of a former second all-defensive team in the 70?s ...sombody please tell me the name this player and if he was a forward or a guard?

    and finally:
This season...who would be the defensive specialyst in the team

    Thank you

Question 1: Pietrus (In other word, we really didn't have any defense stud for years)

    Question 2: No idea

    Question 3: Pietrus...

Mookie was a defensive specialist, but obviously he was in his decline during his W's years. Adonal is a defensive specialist, but that's against post players. Before that, our last winner of All-Defensive Team honors was Sprewell, 2nd team, in 93-94.

Jamaal Wilkes, I think you're looking for. He was a great player who won 2nd Team All-Defense in 75 (his sophomore year) and 76, and went on to win another award with the Lakers. Phil Smith also won once during those years, 2nd Team in 75 (also his sophomore year). Wilkes was a 6'6" small forward and Smith was a 6'4" shooting guard.

Definatley Najera, there are not many players that hustle like him,I remember when Shaq fell on him and he still tried to reach the ball that was out of reach.
Pietrus is a great defender too, can't imagine what he could do in few years.

Sprewell was a great defensive player. Pietrus is that guy now. He just needs the PT.

I agree that Pietrus and Biedrins could turn out into good defenders.

I'm very excited about watching those guys play. In fact I'm very happy that we've chosen players that are athletic, can defend, and could develop a nice offensive game with Montgomery in command. If Biedrens stays at power forward he could be something like Pau Gasol once his fundamentals improve. BTW look for Pietrus to develop a midrange shot this summer.

    doesn't anybody remember Mario Elie?

We've got an entire rotation of defenders in our second team.

In the '70's there was Clifford Ray and Nate the Great. Both great defenders.

Way before my time I guess hehe. I came along during the Run TMC era where the only players I knew were Tim, Mitch, and Chris. Also Manute Bol because he was so freakin' tall. 7'7 I think.
