Local Milwaukee radio network WTMJ 620 is reporting that the Bucks are dealing Van Horn, and Marcus Haislip for Shareef Abdur-Rahim and a draft pick. The deal should be finalized by Tuesday, after the Blazers work out a contract extension for Shareef.

Weird but interesting deal if it actually happens. I figured Portland could get alot more than this for Reef.

If this trade goes down, finally Reef will be on a winning team. He'll help a lot with his post scoring. I'm surprised Portland is interested in KVH, they already have Qyntel, Darius, and Outlaw at the 3, and Monya in a season or two. It'll be hard to move Darius or KVH with their contracts.

Wow, didn't the Blazers have interest in Van Horn near the trade deadline too when Rasheed was going? I guess it's basically the same deal now anyways...

Solid move by the Bucks, if they pull this deal off. They could use a post up player with Reef's scoring ability and he is also an underrated defender. This would also allow Dez Mason to start at the 3, giving the Bucks three great options on offense with Redd, Dez, & Reef. The Bucks lose a little depth in this trade because Haislip is gone, but Joe Smith will likely come off the bench along with Kukoc.

Haislip gives the Blazers a backup to Miles & Randolph, plus the addition of Van Horn gives them a big man who can hit from the perimeter. The Blazers could get more for Reef, but this looks like fair compensation for a player that wasn't going to be part of the Blazers future. The Blazers seem satisfied with Miles & Randolph as the starting frontcourt, and having an unhappy Reef on the bench making the money he wants, doesn't make sense for the Blazers. The Blazers were willing to deal Reef for Wally, and I feel Wally and Van Horn bring similar attributes to a team. Plus the Blazers get a young another young athletic forward in Haislip.

I'll wait until I see an actual credible source until I even take this into consideration. No offense, but the radio rumors have ruined the offseason..

This would be an awesome deal for the Milwaukee Bucks, 'Reef is much better than KVH IMO, Haislip has been rotting on the bench for as long as I can remember and the draft pick they get should come to some use.

This deal would be great for the Bucks. They'd get rid of KVH, a guy who I'm not all that high on, plays too soft, but this has already been discussed and I don't want an argument, and they get a great post player in Rahim, and that's the one thing they need. If they get him, that could give them a very good potential starting 5, especially when TJ comes back from his injury.

I don't think it's possible. If he gets traded, what would this be....4 teams in the last 4 seasons, something like that. By the time he retires, he could be the most traveled player in NBA history.

This would be a good deal for both teams. The Blazers get a guy that will not get in trouble. And the Bucks, get a reliable big men who can play downlow unlike what KVH played. And it didn't seem like the Bucks were very happy with Haislip's development. I don't see either end getting the raw end of the deal.

I think the bucks should add a draft pick with keith and haislip for reef only, then it would look like a fine deal.

It looks like this deal is BS. According to some people at JSOnline.com, the radio station is denying all of this now.

I also doubt this trade will happen. Why would they trade someone like Reef for another capable starter to sit on the bench? While KVH does certainly have trouble staying on a team, and there may be a reason for that that I don't know about, he is a good player, a waste if he's coming off the bench IMO.

I thought that he found a good home in Bucks country last season, thought he'd settle there for a while.

well it will not happen. The blazers wants Shareef to trade for top SGs like Ray, VC or let his contract off the book and sign top players like Ray or Redd to max deals.

Intresting, maybe the Blazers are getting desperet to trade Reef because not many teams are wanting to give much for him, this would be an ok deal for both teams but most people dont give KVH enough credit he could put up stats similar to Reefs imo but Reef is probally the better player when he gets more minutes.

Shareef is an amazingly underrated player, one of the most underrated in the NBA. He has been a constant force all of his years in the NBA, but it always seems he is a great player, on a terrible team. The Bucks would be the perfect team for him. Redd would open up some space inside, and Ford would have a solid player in the post to rack up assists with.
I do hope Reef is a starter next season, as it would be a waste of talent for him to ride the pine.

Keith Van Horn is going to be traded.......... AGAIN

Why do teams trade for a player just to trade him away in a short time?
