From the moment the Heat traded three starters for Shaquille O'Neal, it became apparent that the 2004-05 lineup would feature a patchwork of low-budget filler parts.

Yet despite working above the salary cap and being limited to minimal exceptions, the Heat has rebounded quite efficiently, adding center Michael Doleac, forward Christian Laettner, swingman Wesley Person and guards Damon Jones and Keyon Dooling, with none costing more than $2.5 million for the coming season.

In fact, it could be argued the Heat has done a rather remarkable job stocking its depth at four of the five positions.

At center, there are O'Neal, Doleac and Wang Zhi-Zhi.

At power forward, the pool includes Laettner, 2004 All-Rookie second-team pick Udonis Haslem and Malik Allen.

At shooting guard, the options feature incumbent starter Eddie Jones, 3-point ace Person and intriguing first-round pick Dorell Wright.

And at point guard, there is the sizzle of Olympian Dwyane Wade, the steadiness of Damon Jones and the untapped possibilities of Dooling.

With two weeks before training camp, the Heat has compiled an 80-percent solution to its roster.

The guy also forgot about the Heat's Dirk Nowitzki, Matt Freije, which has said that whichever team picks him in the draft will not regret it: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">?Those (high school guys and foreigners) are getting picked on potential. I went to college for the experience. ... I can come off the bench (in the NBA) and give energy and make shots if a team gives me a chance. I only have to impress one team.?
<div align="center">[IMG]</div> </div>This guy also has carried Vanderbilt on his back and has made big shots to seal victories after the opponents were coming back. His Vanderbilt page and is his Bio are both worth looking at just to see what people have to say and his highlights in college.

Keyon Dooling is suppose be really good too and should shine with the Heat.

This team has a lot of players that play with their hearts and with the addition of Shaq I'm sure that they are getting ready for the upcoming season.
