"No sense in easing our way around this: losing Carlos Boozer to the Utah Jazz was a pretty harsh blow. It doesn't come close to erasing the giddiness that comes from owning the rights to the NBA's Next Great (Greatest?) Thing for the immediate future, but it's a step back. Unfortunately for Cavs fans, there have been quite a few steps back over Jim Paxson's tenure as GM. No point in easing around that -- uh, point -- either. The years kind of blend together. Ugly uniforms, dimly lit arenas, Trajan Langdon and inept coaching will do that. Fans deserved a break, an out-of-nowhere (or Duke) kid that cost the pittance of a second-round pick, a fortuitous spin of the Draft lottery wheel; you know, the sort of things that happen to the "lucky" teams. In a cosmic sense, Boozer and LeBron James were the just rewards for fans who had to deal with the DeSagana Diop draft, the Shawn Kemp trade and Ricky Davis' braids."
