<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After having a breakthrough season with Indiana and earning the NBA?s defensive Player of the Year award on route to a 61-win season, Ron Artest is positioning himself to be traded. During the Eastern Conference finals versus the Pistons he was reportedly goofing off in practice, threatened to quit the team during Game 5, and was not at practice the day before Game 6 because he missed the team?s charter plane to Detroit. Artest also blew off a postseason meeting with Larry Bird to boot. In an attempt to maintain team unity, the Pacers never let his actions leak to the public until now.</div> Full Story
Man it sucks how Artest is so immature,if all this stuff being repoted about him is the truth, then all Artest fans and Pacers fans should be vrey dissapinted,Artest was really bad a couple of seasons ago but this season he seemed more mature, but now there are reports of him being traded because he started playing around during playofftime, now what is that? Thats why he was threatned to be traded and I bealive that the Pacers would possibally trade him for lesser value, if they have had it with him.
Man Im from chicago and I see why we dumped him hes an *******. <font color="red"><font size="1">You should read the site guidelines regarding profanity. Then you would know not to say these things. ~Dre</font></font>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting michiganave17:</div><div class="quote_post">Man Im from chicago and I see why we dumped him hes an *******</div> He might be but Hes a great Defensive and scoring type player. I wouldnt mind having him on my team really. If I knew he wanted to be traded and I was a coach...I would easily go after him because hes a very big factor on the Pacers as it is.
well a very interesting article. i wonder what are the possibilities that the pacers could get for artest. Maybe somehow we could get him here in atl. heres a trade idea. If i'm not mistaken the pistons have elden Cambell on the trading block. can you imagine two of the best defenders on the same team at the same time in Artest and Ben wallace. And although Cambell is old i think he could help out the Pacers at there center spot. Man i think this would be awesome if artest was able to go to detroit. I know there would be minute problems for players as Prince and Darko. but the possiblities of the current pistons including Ben Wallace and co. and Artest could be defensive poetry at its best. i think Larry brown could help Artest become a better settled player. I mean look at the Job Larry did with Iverson and now the "blue collar law firm" employee that he has in Rasheed Wallace. Or maybe artest could go to minny for Wally.
^^^ Your not saying Ron Artest for Elden Campbell are u! Just wondering because the Pistons would have to give up either RIP or Tayshaun to get him....probably RIP.

( not to say Rip is or is not a superstar but the possibility of the Pistons trading RIP are very slim. ) because i remeber when peeple were suggesting the the Peja and Artest trades they were implying that the trade would work out because of the contract similarities.
how bout artest, bender and some money pig(third team if necessary) for vince carter J. Oneal Vince Carter S. Jackson thats not a bad 3-some
Quickness I hate to tell you but the Pacers are not going to trade an All Star guard for one of the oldest players in the NBA,even though thye may not want Ron Artest on their team he has o much trade value top be traded for a guy like Elden Capmbell. When I mean lesser value, then I mean for a player who isnt All Star status but is still a decent player, for instance players like Stephen Jackson(who they already have),maybe a player like Reshard Lewis,Ricky Davis, players like that.I dont mean trade him for old vets like Elden C.
I would trade Rashard Lewis for Ron Artest straight up. The Sonics aren't getting better with Lewis and a drastic change of scenery could humble Artest. I now understand why Artest wasn't selected to the Olympic team. I just thought that Larry Bird wasn't the type of person that would let a player dictate the rules in his organization. Is anything allowable for the sake of winning? This story is far from over and I believe that it is going to get a lot worse--if it is ever going to get better.
Check out the Artest for Davis trade post in the Boston forum here. I'ld like to hear from indy fans on this too.
man Ron Artest is a real bargain...not a big contract and a motivated trader (finds ways to lower his value ). I don't think the Pacers will benefit from trading artest as bad as his attitude is. It'll probably even put em down a notch from contending in the East. Personally I hate the bastard but I'd love to see him on the Heat. The Heat could improve their defense at the 3 (wesley person) and Artest would be a great addition. It solidifies our starting 5 and gives us the missing piece to make us a title favorite. I doubt the Pacers would want to see the Heat get better though because they'll probably face each other in the playoffs. Either that or they'd ask for a lot in return. He's also had some personal issues with the Heat but maybe Riley can turn this kid around? That's wishful thinking...But who knows, even with all their problems Riley said this:<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd like to have two or three Ron Artests myself, know what I'm saying? He's a hell of a player, a very competitive player, and maybe this sort of gets him to focus a little bit more on what he has to do." </div> If Detroit can land him they solidify themselves as the toughest defense in the NBA (if they aren't already) just because he's not on another team, he won't even have to log minutes. But I'm sure they don't want this guy ruining their team especially since they are defending champs. Also Indy doesn't wanna improve any team they will face in the playoffs. If the Pacers do decide to trade em it'll be to the West or to a team in the East that has a player that could benefit the Pacers (if that's possible) and won't make the other team a contender. A trade will really hurt indiana though cuz they'll never get anything in equal value.
You know he's just like everyone else. I can't understand these NBA players like him, I just can't. There out to get the money, and there out for themselves, thats why I like the spurs thats why David Robinson is a true role model.
