Rumor has it that Michael Jordan is attempting another comeback to basketball, this time with the Miami Heat. It was stated in a local news channel. I don't know if it's for real. I'm really not sure how MJ at 42 years old would fit into the system. Would he be a good backup? Would he still demand the ball in clutch time? Again it's all rumors right now. If true, What do you guys think? Good for MJ? Good for the League? Good for the Heat?
I'm going to say that it's either false information, or he's planning on being a part owner or something. If indeed he comes back as a player...it's probably the dumbest idea ever. I'm not saying this because it's the Heat...it's just that he's retired 3 times, and he's already had the best of his career with the Bulls. He ruined his 1998 NBA Finals "final shot" by coming back to the Wizards, and then he didn't do anything spectacular to end his career. A plus for the Heat would be that ticket sales would be the highest ever...but that's about it in my opinion.
This is probably a hoax, most of this these kind of reports are. But I still will keep my ears open. Because who knows. And MJ and Shaq on the same team, even if MJ is in his 40's that's still an amazing combo. Then they would have Eddie Jones and Dwyane Wade.
Clyde and Jordan...Sweet...I don't care... Their names say it all...c'mon...think...there not gonna come back to dominate...just to play...so it's a good thing..for the team, jordan, clyde, fans, etc. Watching 80-90s superstars is awesome, regardless of age....well...maybe I got carried away with that 1.

Quoting hagrid:

I think this is pure rumor.
Or humor. Ever since he was spotted playing ball with Finley and the others, seems as if he is making a comeback. Why would he do such a thing to himself, he showed us he could do it again, and we were amazed, but he is getting older, and it should be common sense to him that this is a foolish move?

I don't see why some people get annoyed when retired stars say they want to play again. We KNOW they still have the skills and ability to play well -- maybe not at an all-star level, but at the least they will be productive bench players. And if they love playing the game of basketball, and they love the competition, why the hell shouldn't they get to play? I don't mind in the LEAST some old timers, with more skills in their little finger then the babies getting drafted in the first round, coming back to play. BTW, I don't think there's much to this rumor, or even the Clyde one. Still, I'd welcome them back.

Jordan does too, don't get me wrong, but it really did upset me when he came back to the Wizards. No other basketball player could ever exit the league like Jordan did in 1998...a third championship, a season MVP, Finals MVP, and the game-winning shot for the ring. Geez. I think what I'm trying to say is that I don't wanna see Jordan go out with an injury...like Charles Barkley did, getting injured in Philly while on the Rockets...it was terrible.
Probably false but if it is true I say more power to him if he can still compete and lets be honest it is Mike so even if he didnt average 30 a game he still brings a whole lot to the table and any team would be lucky to have him. I just wish it was the Bulls and you never know now that they are under new management maybe Pax can convince him to come back to Chicago (a guy can hope cant he)
I think this is pure rumor. MJ has already retired 3 times, and coming back soley to retire a 4th could end up somewhat tarnishing his image. I think the only way he goes to the Heat, or any team for that matter, is for a job in the front office.
think about it MJ playing with Shaq, wade & jones they would easilly win it all for MJ is another title, for the Heat is the title again and money for us it would be one of the best seasons (as if it 's going to be already)
Come on guys...MJ isn't going to be your key to winning it all. He's not going to start...he'll be playing around 20 minutes, maybe not even that. If the Heat move Wade down to PG and try and put Jordan in the starting five, it's going to be a mistake. You guys still need to concern yourselves with getting a backup for Shaq, getting a PF and snatching a point guard. The Wizards fans did the same thing...everyone was all hyped about it, but then Jordan went out losing instead of a champion.
It will be a great come back for Jordan. It will be very helpful for the Heat, can be a good back up, playing maybe 20 minutes every game, I'm sure he will help the Heat a lot's. Plus all NBA need again Jordan, I would love to see him playing again, and I m sure more and more people do think like I do!!

I think adding Jordan actually hurts their chances, not that I think they're going to win it without him either. He's just too old. Ticket sales would be through the roof though.
Jordan has left O'Neal plenty of messages and O'Neal believes he wants to play for the Heat...I posted an article about this on the Heat forums. btw if the great one wants to return to play for the Heat that means he thinks this team has a great chance at winning and wants to be a part of it.
Come on guys.....some news channel was just lacking in significant stories that day so they started this nonsense.
Wow, you cats is buggin, MJ at 41 is better than Rasual Butler & Wesley Person, so that makes it an up grade at the 3 spot automatically(which is the position MJ would most likely play off the bench, because I dont think they would have him guarding scoring 2's in the east). Anyway, MJ can easy average 15ppg off the bench with mid-range jumpers alone. Having MJ on the court would take attention away from Shaq, right off the bat, because no matter how old MJ is teams are still going to respect him as a threat. So having MJ's pressence already loosen things up on the post for Shaq down low. There is nobody on the Heat's roster outside of Shaq that will command more respect from his opposition & teamates than MJ even at 41. And if you dont think that makes a difference, I think you should re-evaluate your knowledge of the game. Another fact would be MJ on Wade, I think Wade still needs a bit of grooming on the fundamentals of the game. While he is a great talent, the olympics exposed his weakness to make the simple basketball plays. He struggled with making simple things like post entry passes against pressure, he often over penetrated, not knowing how to monever thru defenses to get the type of shot off that he wanted to get. Just simple things. And I think MJ could really helping him with those aspects. Ask Kobe who helped him elevate his mid-range game? And that made a world of difference in him not having to over penerate every time. So to say MJ wouldnt have an impact on any team as a player & teacher, leaves me dumb founded to say the least. Anyway, for personal reasons I dont want to see MJ comeback. But MJ is and will always be my man, so Iam going to surpport him whatever his decision maybe. Thats just the type of respect MJ has earned. And should have gained from anybody that saw him operate. Btw, the Wizards & their fans were not expecting a championship or anything close to such. A playoff experience is what MJ said he came back to give that young Wizards team. And he would have got it, if it wasnt for a couple Knee injuries those two years. And one thing that people need to remember is that MJ had the Wizards competing for a playoff spot, when all 8 teams had to be above .500 or better to get in. If you put that Wizards team in last years race for the last 4-5 spots(after the Nets, Pistons, & Pacers), trust me that team finds away to get one of those spots. Anyway I read an article that MJ tried to get in touch with Shaq, left a few messages with Shaq but Shaq hasnt retuned the call. There is some speculation that Shaq doesnt want MJ's help. I dont think he wants to share the spotlight with a MJ return especially with it being his 1st year in Miami. It would clearly be Shaq's team no doubt about that but It would be MJ's media. And thats probably the part Shaq cant deal with...
