Free agent small forward Ryan Bowen, 28, completed his second day of workouts with the Heat, and his agent expects an offer from Miami.

''[General manager] Randy Pfund said it went really well and we will talk again [this weekend],'' agent Guy Zucker said.

Zucker said the 6-9 Bowen is ''very interested'' in Miami but also has received interest from Houston, Sacramento, Minnesota and Denver. Bowen, who played his first five NBA seasons in Denver, would fill Miami's need for a defensive-minded small forward.

His offensive isn't needed with Shaq Wade and Jones being the primary option but it seems the Heat were impressed by his defense. This guy should just be here so Person and Butler don't slack off on defense and have competition to log minutes when they do.

No big deal here, just a splinter hog on the bench.

Bowen is a hard worker who can play some defense but is no more than a 8-10 minutes a game player If not less. Certainly not a guy to create some fuss over. Surprised he has gotten so much interest around the league.

Yes, I know a good practice player with a Mark Madsen mentality but nothing but a practice player. I think he can't compete that well with the other players due to his lack of athletic stature.

probably getting some of the teams looking at him because there just arnt a lot of SF's that can play defense still available for a low price right now. specially if you are looking for a backup that can play defense.

He can't penetrate, can't shoot, and can't really do anything on offense. Pure defense won't cut it if you want to get minutes in the NBA.

Jones, we can afford to have his defense on the floor and have our PF be the 4th scoring option. He even averages 47% from the field in his career but apparently isn't a scoring option or doesn't hog the ball much.

Anyways, that defensive setup will have it's advantages against certain teams and we won't be sacraficing our point production if he's the last option. I'm also confident an opponent won't want to leave him unguarded with an open shot just because he is our last option.

He'll find minutes in this team but it won't be nothing spectacular.
