<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Devilz:</div><div class="quote_post">agree...magic will stay!!!!!!!!!!! </div> Don't be so sure. With the way things are going now, it's only a matter of time before the Magic pack up and go to Kansas City, St. Louis, or some other city that is actively pursuing an NBA franchise. Slumping ticket sales are really what is hurting the Magic more than anything. Not only that, we live in a community where no one wants to build a new arena. Everyone wants to concentrate on one thing and one thing only it seems, Disney and their crap. The truth is that we really could use a new arena because the one we have is just not cutting the mustard anymore. It doesn't matter though, people just look at the money that will be coming out of their tax dollars but forget that it would definitely lead to more revenue brought in for the community and it would also produce some more jobs. A bigger arena is something that would be good for the town and would keep the Magic here, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. If the Magic leave though, it'll really suck for me and other sports fans in the area since it's really the only local pro team around. We have no football, hockey or baseball team around here.
r u crazy man? orlando is the best city in the world and those citys cant contend. <font color="Blue">As much as you might believe that, you made a very biased statement without backing it up. Please elaborate in the future. - Ice</font>
Very very possible. The Magic franchise is relatively cheap on the market right now, so it doesn't surprise me at all that this guy could be trying to make some cash. I'm sure you're aware of that one whacky Mavericks owner who, basically, resurrected a team from the dead. Buy low, sell high right? I wouldn't mind this so long as he comes to Orlando and not the other way around.
I've been hearing all this talk about them wanting a new arena, but what's wrong with TD Waterhouse? Is it real hard to get there or something? Never been there or anything, or know when it was built, so any info would be appreciated. If they were to get a new stadium and relocate, I would like to see them in St.Louis.

Back then, the NBA was suggesting to incoming franchises that building a smaller arena was more fan-friendly. They thought that it would be easier to sell out and give the game the atmosphere necessary to succeed. As a result, a lot of the teams that came into the league or relocated in the early 90's/late 80's built rather small arenas. However, the NBA didn't realize that even when you sell out a small arena, you aren't selling out that much.
