How long has it been since Vince Dunked over someone and gave em a real good facial. Its been two good years since he pretty much dunked over Duncan. Now he almost got stuffed by Jermaine Oneal. Vince Carter showed the league that he still can score especially in March, but he can never have a whole game wheres hot. When Vince takes leadership and scores, the Raptors were 24-17 this year. The thing I don't understand is, when u have so much athleticism, why don't u want to use it. I mean, remember when he used to do windmills around people, over people. Vince needs to come back to the Eastern conference semi finals. Vince needs to respond to the criticism instead of ignoring it. Now he wants a trade. I mean common man, don't u have any loyalty to the fans in Toronto. I watched pretty much every game of Vince's since he came into the league. Toronto needs him, and he needs Toronto. By announcing he wants to be traded he took a big hit to his injured rep. A poll on torontostar.com showed that 72% of people want him out of T.O. It doesn't look like he will make the starting lineup next year. And another thing is, GM's are dissing him up. I mean he got shut down for Steve Francis, and Baron Davis. Yes Vince, is still better than those two players, but he got dissed. Vince must reprove himself to everyone, even me. Threads merged: "VC Appreciation" to "The Old VC" -Franchise
remember the old Vincent Lamar Carter during the 2000 - 2001 season? he was so damn good, possibly the best swingmen in the NBA at that time. at that period, vinsanity truly lived up to his name, but now i dare say he is more like vinfraility.
Yeh, that season where the Raptors faced the 76'es in game 7 was an amazing year. I hope he can be amazing once again.
Man, i liked VC when he was at his prime(?) and not just because of the dunks...i don't think a great b-ball game is a game who has to have with dunks in it. I liked him because he took charge with A.davis, when he was hot he could do a dunk and than do another 2 3pointers in a roll ,i truly believe he could have been an MVP threat IF he did'nt injure himself so much. About the actual question: i don't think he can be as great or greater in this season or in the next cuz IMO these players are still humans and if a guy who is that athletic injure himself over and over again like that than he will probably retire or be the nxt Penny Hardaway(remmember that even Jordan was impressed by his game when his career has begun?)
Vince Carter when healthy is unstopable.i think this year he will have a great year regardless of if he stays in Toronto or not Vince just want's a ring, like everybody else, and he probably wants to play for a team who's playoff bound. But instead of yapping his mouth on and on,he should let the plays he makes speak for himself, instead of his whining.

I remember he scored 39 points in last season opener. So I was like aw set the superstar is back. Then he just went back down to all-star which is still good but the superstar is needed. Man it's funny to read I liked Vince in his prime and he's still in his 20's. His last superstar year was the 2001-2002 season averaging 27.7 and was only his 3rd year in the league. Hopefully we all get to see that superstar VC this year cause his time is running out.
Carter cant do all those superdunks anymore because of his injurys and his fear of injurys. You dont have to be a great dunker to be a great player.
vince during 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 was superb, he was simply the shaq's version of swingman... unstoppable

I doesn't matter anyway, we all know that VC is going to play like a lazy (edited) this year. I is so upset that he wasn't dealt and will remain a lil cry baby the whole season.
look at his vert in this vid cap. this isnt even the apex of his jump i just couldnt seem to freeze the vid at the right spot

VC is still a very good player IMO,even though he might not be the same player he once was he is still athletic and hasnt lost his hoprs or anything like that, but that doesnt mean that his jumping ability isnt effected by his bad knees at times. But its hard to predict what Carter will do at this point,if he is playing for a team where he doesnt want to play, is he going to suck it up and play his hardest or just play average because he doesnt want to be with the Raptors? His team mates bealive he will suck up his pride and come to work hard for the Raptors when the season starts. I think if he is playing for a team that he wants ot play for,and is healthy and hungry we could see parts of the old VC in the upcoming season.
^ That's from his game-saving block against Jason Terry. He reached REALLY high for that one cause he wanted to win that one game really bad. He ended up making 2 clutch shots and this clutch blocks. Proof that when Vince wants to play, he can be a superstar which brings me to one result: Poor work ethic.
