After coming off a big rookie season, what do you guys expect from Carmelo in 04-05?

Melo can only get better every season by experience and I cant wait to see what him and his new team mate Kenyon Martin can acomplish together.

Some may say that Melos stats may drop some(offensivley) because of the addition of Kenyon, but personaly I doubt this will happen.Carmelo's offensive game comes to him natural and he will still be the focal point of the Nuggets offense.

Carmelo Anthony
23.5 PPG
6.1 RPG
3.4 APG
1.3 SPG

Individual Acheivments
Melo should be an all star this season, and he might get MVP of thr Rookie VS Sophmore game or something, but I dont think he will have many more achivements besides having a tremendous season.I know one thing,I see Melo to K-Mart alley oops in the near future!! [IMG]

He will be one of the best scorers in the league this year. He can post up smaller forwards, and blow past slower forwards. His assist will go up since he likes to be flashy and I too see him throwing K-Mart a whole bunch of alley-oops. It will be interesting to see how well he does.

22.7 PPG.
6.5 RPG.
3.5 APG.
1.4 SPG.
1.0 BPG.

I would expect something like this:

22 PPG.
7 RPG.
5 APG.
2.5 SPG.
0.5 BPG.

20-6-3. Melo won't get as many points solely because of the presence of Martin, who will probably garner 12 shots a game, taking one or two from Anthony. However, Anthony will probably still find a way to score 20 each night, while not sacrificing KMart's production.

They may happen ,but it may not, with Melo being this teams best offensive player I dont really see him losing many shots to Kenyon, and even though Kenyon will want his shots also I am sure,he will understand that Melo is the focal point of their offenseand that Melo will be the first option, also Kenyon may take some pressure off Melo as well and that could cause him to score even more,if Martin ever brings double teams to the paint.

IMO its similar how it was in NJ,you have a distributer in A.Miller(Kidd),The main scorer in Melo(RJ),and the 2nd option in K-Mart.

When Martin was in NJ, Jefferson was never number one scoring option, and neither was Kidd. It was Martin, whom they went down to the post every play. Actually, this will be the first time in Martin's career that he hasnt had the ball first.

I never said Jidd was the first scoring option in the first place, and last year RJ put up 18.5ppg,and K-Mart put up 16.7,that means that RJ was getting more shots and points so RJ must be the number one scoring option because he is also a better offensive player.

I might be fighting a losing battle here since my opening statement was already wack, but I'll fight to the death. [IMG]

Jefferson played 82 games, Martin played 65, and Kidd played 67. On a gamely basis, Martin averaged 13.8 shots per game, Kidd 14.3, Jefferson 13.5. Is Jefferson first option then? Also keep in mind that Kidd has at least 2 shots a game coming off of passes by Martin after he was double-teamed, and the same goes for Jefferson. So who was the main scoring option?

Come on guys.

The Nuggets added Kmart. Melo is not gonna increase his scoring as much as your posts are saying.

So what? RJ upped his average last year by 3ppg, and Kmart was still on that team right?

Yeah I don't think K-Mart will affect his scoring. The only way I don't see him increasing his scoring averages is if he shoots the same percentages as last year. But he'll still probaly score 21 a game.

I say Melo is 21PPG
6 rebounds
2.5 assists

Martin will definatly take shots away from Melo... don't know what you guys are on, but Martin's an allstar and Melo isn't.

Plus he's still fatigued from the whole summer of working hard. (or sitting on the pine [IMG])

We'll yeah, but Melo is still a better scoere then Martin is and he is in a tougher confrence.Speaking of a tougher confrence being in the West could have some effect on Kenyon.

Also Carmelo is only going to get better and he put up 21ppg last season so I no for sure that he will average more points then 21ppg this year.

So what? RJ is the 2nd option on a team with three guys that can score. Melo is playing with a plethora of guys that can score in double digits at any time.

As far as Kmart not being better than Duncan and KG, that is true. But those two are a lock down as fan picks anyway. Who's to say that the coaches wont pick Kmart?

True, the coaches could get kmart into the all star game. but theres also Dirk, Lamar, Mashburn, Peja, and Melo that could beat kenyon out at the forwrd position.
