Hey whatever happened to Tito Maddux (originally selected 38th of the 2002 nba draft by the Houston Rockets). I was hoping we could have picked this guy up. Good defender. Good ballhandler. A playmaker. He's 6'4" too. Anybody know anything about this guy and why he was dismissed? Also Tierre Brown ain't that bad either.
Tito Maddux came from the same mold as God Shammgod. Good handles but a badly broken jump shot. Tito's game just wasn't advanced enough to handle the step up in competition in the NBA.
Ha, it'll be funny if the Warriors sign either Brown or Maddox. Both of them were former Rockets players, and given that the Rockets just signed Derrick Zimmerman (former Warrior guard), it would be like a trade of scrubs.

That guy can flat out FLY! I don't think I've ever seen a faster NBA player... hope he worked on his shot over the summer.

Still I thought those players were interesting despite being scrubs who haven't proved anything yet. Of course everyone knows the point guard spot is the most demanding in a player since you need almost all the fundamental basketball skills to make your team better. You can get all these 6'2 shooting guards who overdribble or can't shoot or can't pass, but a 6'2 pure point guard that can pass, dribble, defend the perimeter, post-up, take it inside, score with either hand, and shoot from the perimeter is a rare sight these days. If you're a 1 that is missing one of these skills, it just hurts the team even more. But if you have the ability to defend, pass, dribble and demonstrate court awareness, then it makes me interested. Also, It should be a requirement that your point guard be a good or at least average defender since you're guarding the guy with the ball in his hands most of the time. I just figured Brown or Maddox could do everything well for a point guard except shoot. Unfortunately shooting is the way to get points on the board (unless the ref is on your side and you can draw a lot of fouls by driving a lot). It's also a way to get your teammates open if you're just sinking shot after shot and they're now focussing on trying to stop you.
