I just don't get it....how can Belichick continue to find peolpe willing to check ego and wallets at the door. Mangini became the next in line to take less money to stay with the patriots when he took our D-Coordinator Job and thank god he did because he obviously worked wonders with a young, injured, and inexperienced group of DB's and he was belichick's first choice. Then Seattle offers Pioli 5 years 15mil to be their president and even though he makes less than 1mil a year he laughes at it and continues to say he will finish out his contract through 2006. It's just refreshing to see time and time again both players and coaches taking less to make the whole better. Who's next? We know it won't be Law but I wouldn't be surprised if Roosevelt Colvin takes a pay cut this season and the usuals McGinest and Johnson will take pay cuts...cus its seems like every year they do.

Another intresting thing will be Brady's contract. They are going to try and work out an extention during the offseason and I'm intrested to see what kind of deal he gets. The one good thing is Brady said he's not looking to out do Peyton or anyone elses deals which would be something you don't see in todays age...I mean Mike Vick got 100+ mil deal so you would think Brady would want one but I hope not.

Who wouldn't want to be on a winning team reather than being on a crap team with a whole bunch of money. i mean really how much money do these guys really need anyway. it gets carried away. if patten manning was smarter, he would give back some of his money so his team could keep or get some more talent. really i am glad because his team suffers because of it. which means the pats will keep on beating this team.

Actually, TOMW74, the Colts are in the best shape of anyone this offseason when it comes to the salary cap and I can't figure that out. They just gave huge contracts to Manning, Harrison and Stokley and somehow they are still $20 million UNDER the cap. They're talking about slapping the franchise tag on James, but that still leaves them $12 million under.

honeslty I'm thinking in like 5 years a brainwashing scandal bigger than the BALCO scandal is going to come out of foxborough..lol. It's crazy and refreshing to see at the same time and should teach the NFL a lesson about the types of players that are considered 1st round talent...I mean not to many teams have the balls to ignore a physical freak even if he has baggage but I know if belichick could trade down for more picks or pick a randy moss....he'd trade in a second.

Ya its down the road when Peyton begins to take up 1/3 of the cap....but its easy to be 20 mil under when you have talent on only one side of the ball.

Maybe I should pay more attention to the Interview portion of the scouting process on Madden 05.

I guess we'll see if Brady wants a better deal with the Patriots in the Offseason. Maybe Vick is in it for the money.

This is simply amazing. Its good to see that there a few in athletics with character/values.

Its even more refreshing to see people like that rewarded.

probably because they dont get as much money as they do this year than the years to come. he could be getting 6 mill this year and a couple years down get 15-20 mill. its all in how they distribute the money

There is no doubt that Brady is going to get a new deal in the offseason but he has already been quoted as saying he isn't looking to out do Peyton or anyone so we'll see what he gets at the end of the day...but I'd wouldn't be surpised if he takes a deal that isn't some crazy 100 mil deal.

Write this down, I guarantee that Brady will not take alot less money. He will prolly get a 8-10 year...90-120 mil with about 20 mil signing bonus, similar to what McNabb got few years back.

I agree E4L, but I'm just saying with all the crazy contracts turned down and guys like harrison and bruschi taking almost nothing to play for the pats compared to what they could have if they went to other teams it wouldn't surprise me if Brady took a contract that is considered modest for one of the top 5 players in this league. I'm also not sure we'd give someone a 20 mil bonus and 100 mil either....even if it was Brady....personally i say pay the man but belichick has his value set for every position and he doesn't waiver for anyone... I mean he cut Lawyor Milloy over 600,000 dollars basically and he was our defensive captian...I'm not saying he'd be crazy and do something like that with brady but it does show how strict he is with his budget. Could brady be the guy that finally gets a big deal...we'll see soon enough.

Who is patten manning? I did not know there was a third manning. Certainly he would be smarter to give the money back, if his only goal was winning, he could play for free and have best chance. One thing, winning doesnt have to be your goal. If his goal in life is to make 200 million dollars, more power to him, same for vick, same for mcnabb. If you reach your personal goals in life, then you have succeeded. Just becuase you say that he should play strictly to win doesnt mean it is fact. If you say that winning is the only important thing does not make it fact. He can have whatever goals he wants in life. For you to tell him how to be smarter when you can not spell the simplest words and names, makes me want to wretch. All i know is your statements echo those of the standard band wagon jumper.

You know they will just redo the deal with a new bonus clearing up a ton of room.

stop my bithin? what is bithin? I would like to comply with this request, but i am unaware what bithin is? It is not in the Merriam-Webster online reference? Is it a "bandwagon" term that I would not know?

Secondly I dont think there is any need for name calling I do not think VF appreciates when one member refers to another in that manner. I would be careful if I were you. I would hate for a member who hopped on the forums bandwagon, to get reprimanded and sent away, we like having you here.

Finally, dont worry, I won't be sad when(if) the patriots win the super bowl next year. If in fact you think i am pointing out these things merely out of jealousy that the team you say you have been rooting for won the super bowl then consider this. I have not made any post like that to Glenso or Pats37. So considering we have a sample space with one person being isolated, despite the fact that 3 people meet the criteria you are stating, perhaps thier is a flaw in your logic. The reason i am picking apart your posts is because they are WRONG in principle fact and theory and deserved to be made the object of ridicule. You are a good person, just way off base in what you are saying.

If that isnt the credo of the bandwagon jumpers association . . .

This is a silly question, does it matter? Is it bad to be a chick? Or would it be good? Are you a sexist.
