With Bowen taking a one-year, minimum deal in Houston to help fill the void created by the back injury to Bob Sura, the Heat has turned its attention to 6-foot-7 former Auburn forward Chris Porter.

Porter spent the 2000-01 season with the Golden State Warriors and since has bounced around the minor leagues and Europe.

Porter, 26, helped lead the Dakota Wizards to last season's Continental Basketball Association title, averaging 16.2 points and 6.5 rebounds.

The Heat opens training camp Tuesday with commitments to 16 players. It can retain 12 on the active roster and three on the injured list.</div><div align="center">Source</div>
