Shandon faces payoff & layoff (Good Riddance)

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas is so committed to removing Shandon Anderson from his life that he is willing to give him $24 million not to playbasketball. According to a Knicks source, Thomas informed the veteran guard not to report to work come Monday, the first official day of training camp. That move would appear to be a first step in negotiating a buyout agreement with Anderson, who has three years remaining on his contract worth $24 million.

However, Thomas, the Knicks' president, said last night that the team has no plans to "give money for nothing."

Yeah I had never heard this story either. I'm completely blaming Isiah for everything as usual though. His people skills suck sometimes, it's a fact. His brash way of handling things just doesn't work with everyone. I especially don't like how he pulled Lenny Wilkens into that "Anderson cost us the game episode". At least Marbury stood up and told the truth.

I think Isiah is just pissed that he is paying Anderson sooooooo much money to be a back up player. They tried to trade him in that deal with Chicago, but Anderson is making too much money and he is signed for 3 more years. You have to remember though that Anderson and his big contract came to New York in the "Glen Rice trade", so is could be worse as Rice could be sitting at the end of the bench still. Loved Rice as a player.......He just got old.

This could be followed up immediately by a trade for Wally, be ready.

Too bad, I hate the Wally trade. [IMG]

Your not the only one who thinks the Wally trade is a bad idea. But at least we get rid of Shandon Anderson. Hopefully Tim Thomas(how i hate him) will be on his way out and then and only then Isiah makes the Wally trade. We'll have two shooters great shooters in the starting lineup(like we would have had before if we didnt trade away Van Horn) and Marbury dishing passes to them so they rain three's upon the foe. Sweetney will get to start and he is a rebounding machine. JYD will get minutes that he should get. The Wally trade could work if done right. But knowing Isiah Thomas and his whole "athletic" thing...he'll make a mess of everything like he did with the Van Horn and Doleac trade.

This would make my day if Wally became a Knick! Kurt is getting older and is not a good player for the future. He is too slow and wont be great on a break. I loved his hustle and his deffense though.

Isiah lets his guard down on Shandon

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Shandon Anderson reported for work yesterday and will remain with the Knicks - and in limbo - for as long as it takes Isiah Thomas to trade or cut him. The latter is the more realistic option, even though Anderson is scheduled to make $24 million over the final three years of his contract, including $7.3 million this season.
