Dirk's certainly gonna miss his buddy. .But I'm so proud and happy of having him as the franchise player. He could've easily demanded a trade with the way things have gone in the post season and constant makeovers of the team. Just shows how classy he is. The team certainly looks great on paper and the mavs have a very easy schedule to begin the season. They need to get to a great start like the 2002-2003 season to have any chance of having home court advantage. Nellie needs to blend in all the new talent fast..
Yeh, it was great to hear about Dirk's attitude. He knows changes had to be made. Yesterday's article on Dampier was great also. For those who fear he'll do nothing now that he has a contract, realize the guy has played eight seasons in the NBA and has never played a meaningful game. It sounds like he's really excited about playing for a contender. Personally, I think he'll be great if he stays healthy, and if Don Nelson doesn't put him in the doghouse.
He's the man now. He always was. It's just that he shared taking charge with Nash & Finley. It's good that he is re asserting himself as early as now... As I said He's the man now!
