    2 Avatar questions.

    1. I`m following the tutorial and I get to the part with the patterns for the backround, how do you get that up, it didn`t come up, the toolbar.
    2. For backrounds, how do you get team`s logos in the backround? Thanks.

1.) What toolbar? You don't need a toolbar for that.
2.) You have to create a new layer. When you get your logo you put it on a new layer by pressing the New Layer button in the Layer Window. Then rearrange the layers so your image is on top of the logo.

    After downloading fonts...

I downloaded acknowledge and silkscreen fonts from dafont.com, now how do I use them? There not in my font box.

You have to install them. Most likely you got them in a .ZIP file. So open up the files (via Winzip), and extract them to a folder where you will keep all your fonts. Then go to the Fonts folder (Start>Settings>Control Panel>Fonts), and click on File>Install New Font, then choose your folder from the list, select your font, and press OK.

To get a background to be invisible you have to make a graphic without the background, meaning it has to be transparent. (File>New, then go to options in the bottom left corner and click the bubble that says Transparent.). From there on, create your graphic, when you are done, you have two options in which to save them:

    - .GIF file: this is the leading file for transparent and motion images around. However it created a grainy feel to images, and even motion graphics.

    - .PNG file: this is the newest introduced file type for transparent and motion images around. It does not create a grainy feel like the .GIF file type. However it is not recognized in IE operated browsers, and simply puts a color where it is supposed to be transparent. In Netscape powered brosers (Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, etc) it leaves it as is.

If you are experiencing that the color comes back once you save your transparent graphic, then you are most likely saving it as a .JPEG, .JPG, or a bitmap file which do not produce the desired transparent effect.

Is this what you meant HOD? I don't think I quite fully understood your questions.

s'ok, im not sure i asked it correctly.
the problem is when i save an image to use for something else... i need to erase a bunch of the uneeded stuff in the image. i was using the eraser tool, which was working just fine to leave me an invisible background. but something changed, now its not leaving me an invisible background, its leaving me a colored background & i cant figure out what i did to change that....

i just started using fireworks to do that step & thats working just fine as a PNG file

    Hey Sasha,
I noticed in RJ 21's sig that it shows what song he is currently playing and/or what he just listened to. How do I create that kind of .PNG file in my sig just like that as it keeps getting updated even when I'm not changing it. It also says he's offline when he is offline. How do I do that?

    Best regards,
    All-Star.

HOD, what color is the background. If it is white, that means you saved it as a .JPEG? If it is a different color then you are viewing it from an IE operated browser that does not recognize .PNG's. If it is none of these things then I don't know or just don't understand your question fully.

All-Star, that's something he probably updates himself or has written/recevied a code from that radio website. I am not really an expert with coding of any kind, so I wouldn't know.

I'm sure RJ can tell you more, but it's related to his winamp skin, which can create a little png from what song you're playing, and I suppose he has something set up to beam it to there. Not having used winamp in a long time, I'd be the wrong person to ask how to set this up entirely. www.gerpok.com

Sorry man, I'm not too experienced with Fireworks. As for the signature, it looks pretty decent, only thing I would say to do is brighten the pictures a little bit, they look like the opacity on them has been lowered.

First save the picture. Then when you open PS, create a layer and place the logo in there, then create a new layer for everything else you want to add. Layers are the key to Photoshop, without them, the room for creation is almost nonexistant.

Filters but you can use brushes too. It looks good together. =D

To use brushes, just download them off a brush site, install them and then use them. It's pretty simple.
