<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">is a proud NBA player and an even prouder Philadelphian. Which is why his return to Philadelphia as a 76er last season was so painful. Jackson had high hopes of helping his hometown team, but both he and the Sixers fell on hard times. While the Sixers struggled, going 33-49, Jackson struggled just to get on the court. First the former Roman Catholic High and Temple University star suffered a fractured left ring finger. Then it was a stress reaction in his left foot. He played in only 22 games. It wasn't much of a homecoming. That is why Jackson, 29, is so excited to be healthy as he approaches his second season with the Sixers, who will conduct their annual media day in Philadelphia today before beginning training camp tomorrow at Duke University in Durham, N.C.</div> <div align="center">Link</div> I'm also eager to see him play. In the beginning of the 03-04 season he was a very solid contributor, but like everyone else he sustained an injury and in his case he was sidelined for quite some time. Well it?s a whole new day, and now that he's healthy and ready to play I for one believe he will be the 6th Man for this team. And if and only he stays injury free and does what he did in the beginning of last season he could be runners up at best for the 6th Man Of The Year award. While there are not as much people here who appreciate this guy, you will soon. But the key for him to have any success is staying healthy. He has a conditioning problem and has struggled to stay healthy which didn?t give him the opportunity to show what he can really do. When he is healthy he can play. Last time I recall, at one point over the course of 6-15 games or so he averaged 14 PPG along with 7 RPG which is pretty impressive. However, the last time I seen him play he wasn?t looking too good on that ailing left foot of his. Hopefully, it has gotten better.
Jackson will play a vital role on this team as a backup C to Sammy D.He is going to have to stay healthy a be able to produce while Dalembert rests.
Really good article and I'm excited to see him play this year. He is actually probably my favorite 76ers next to Corliss. I'm always a sucker for the hard-nosed players from my home town city.

But there is something about Jackson that caught my attention. I don't if it?s his physical/aggressive style of play or it's because he's just a flat-out mean player in the low post. But whatever the case may be, he's a great player and could bang bodies with some of the NBA biggest guys. When he's healthy he is arguably one of the best big men off the bench in the entire league.
