I don't blame him...it seems like the Nets aren't thinking about winning next year, just more like the lottery. Zo shouldn't really be playing, in my opinion, but the fact is that he wants to do something good for the team...and without anyone to support him, he might as well take a backseat also.
Okay really, this guy can't say a thing about anything the Nets did this off season. He was the one that signed that monster contract and didn't even play 10 games last year. Who is this guy to start whining and complaining about the Nets moves this offseason. He is part of the problem why the Nets are cost cutting the in the first place. Is this guy even talented enough to say anything anymore? What is he gonna do, demand a trade? IMO this guy has no right to say anything about the Nets situation until he is healthy enough to play again. That may be never.
I like Zo, but he needs to shut up on this one. He's not proven himself healthy enough over the last 3 years to be complaining about anything. The likelyhood that he'll be around for the whole season is in serious question, given his medical condition.
Hagrid you beat me to it, the next thing we know Grant Hill will be complaining about the Tmac trade . Zo should be happy to step on a court. RJ is really the only one who has any business complaining.
Well earlier I said that you can't blame Zo...but I suppose you can't blame the Nets either. I just still have a hard time swallowing the fact that Kenyon Martin is gone for three draft picks...maybe that's why it's hard to say that the Nets aren't to blame. Then again, I guess Alonzo was the one that wanted to make the comeback and have the organization accommodate him...so he shouldn't be complaining.
Well even tho...courtvision hit it right on the head, Zo's contract & also the decision to trade for Mutombo/his contract (which is still on the books) is a major reason why the Nets are in this situation where they needed to dump a few salaries. I cant knock Zo for his comments 100%, because he still was a source of motivation & a leader of the team last year from the sidelines. So he should have some right to express his displeasure. The problem I have is more with the timing of his comments, its training camp, time to start looking forward. Even Kidd has gotten over it, or is at least willing to look forward. And I think the rest of the team has to take the same approach. Its time to show some confidence in E-Williams, Ron Mercer, Rodney Buford, Travis Best & the other additions that the team has faith in them coming in & producing some of the things lost this offseason. Zo comments seem more suitable for July or August, not Oct with preseason a couple weeks away.
