<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Need4Sheed:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry, buddy but that's the problem here. The only proven players on the team are Yao and T-Mac eith not one other person to average double figures in pts. A team with Tyronne Lue running the point will be lucky to make it in the playoffs. </div> Juwan Howard averages 17ppg and 7 rpg. So, right there, your statement is wrong. Mutombo is possibly the best defensive player of all time. Taylor averages 10-12 ppg off the bench. Jackson averages a good 12 ppg. Tyron Lue isn't even going to be running the point. Bob Sura will when he gets back. Also just to point out, Derrick fisher was the 'point guard' for the Lakers and they still won. Rockets just need a guard that will rebound, pass, defend. He doens't have to score or do anything crazy. Bob Sura will do that perfectly.

For starters, Ward or whoever starts at point can have a 0 point and 3 assist night, but it might still be considered a good performance because of the little things that he has done that does not show in the stat book, like hustle, defense, and basically be the role player that he is supposed to be.

Oh, and good job here. Someone actually backed up one of their comments. You should also do a lil research before you questioning yourself about whether someone is a noob or not, lol. </div> I'm sorry, I had no idea what this post was about. Jim Jackson, Juwan Howard, Tyronne Lue, Mo Taylor, and Bob Sura all averaged double figures in points. Not saying that they will this year, but expect Mo, Howard, and JJ to. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A team with Tyronne Lue running the point will be lucky to make it in the playoffs. </div> Ty might start the beggining of the season, but we all expect Sura and/or Ward to be running the helm when in counts. Even with him as a reserve, teams did well. Look at the Championship Lakers in 99'-00'. He "ran the point" a few times throughout the playoffs, especially against the Sixers. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, so let's just leave it at that. We don't need an arguement about how able Ty Lue is. drm2dnk's remark was a little un-called for (man I'm sounding like a mod now ), and we don't need somebody calling another a "noob" (how the heck can somebody be a noob when talking about basketball?). Anyways.. all we can do --before we make predictions that Tyronn Lue can't run the point -- is watch tommorow's game (ITS REALLY TOMMOROW!!!). This is about Yao and Tracy's chemistry. Tracy should by now know that he needs to share the ball, and if he doesn't, then I have no idea what training camp taught him. I dont know if this is just me, but do any of you remember Steve Francis passing it to Yao in the post? I hope Tracy can do that a lot more than Steve and Cuttino. Even if they dont gel this season, as long as they're both locked up for a few years, they'll have time to learn from each other. Hakeem and Clyde were pretty old when they won there rings... Hopefully we wont have to wait that long.
Tyrone may not be the best to run the point all game long, but he is the perfect player off the bench. He's the type of player who can drain the clutch, and provides quick offense off the bench, which will be needed when the JVG system goes horribly wrong, and that will happen from time to time. Lue, IMO, is a very good pick up along with Howard. This team is NOT a 2-man team by any stetch. Yao and T-Mac will probably pull off allstar performances but that is expected of them. If you ask me, its J-Howard that will decide the fate of the rockets this season. -peace out
