<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">76ers forward Glenn Robinson had an impressive opening day of training camp on Tuesday, and he appears prepared to put a frustrating 2003-04 season behind him. Injuries held Robinson to a career-low 42 games and a career-low 16.6 points per contest. "There was definitely a little frustration," he told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I thought I was able to do more than what I really could do. That's why I took this summer to look in the mirror. I said I'm going to work all all summer and come back better." New head coach Jim O'Brien added, "Glenn is in great condition...He really was effortless in his ability to score [on Tuesday]. He plays with a lot of confidence. He's a quick learner. He could start a game tonight, and he'd put up some major numbers."</div> <div align="center">Link</div> Other than his goal of making the All-Star team this year, he's been real quite this offseason. But today we finally get an update on him. Well it seems as if he's in good condition for now, and hopefully he will be in as good of a shape once the season begins. And if he does remain in this shape how long will it last before he stars breaking down again? But nonetheless, it's good to hear that Robinson is doing well. No matter how much most of us may dislike him, he going to be a vital part to this regardless. So I like what I'm hearing so far out of him.
ya im glad they didnt trade him in the offseason because hes bound to have a pretty good season i say 18 points a game
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yes, it sounds good. Since it is the last year on his contract, he may play very well.</div> Exactly. Now that he's in his last year of his contract this is precisely the reason why he got into great shape. He even made a headline on Yahoo! Sports, and in the picture I viewed of him he seemed to have trim down some. Also, in the Sixers Radio Show as well as the Training Camp Notes, Jim O'Brien stated that Robinson is easily the standout player on the roster. So this is very good to hear about a questionable but yet important player.
I just hope that Big Dog doesn't do too good, so good that the Sixers make the same mistake as the other players and re-sign him to a huge deal. It would take a close to all-star year from Big Dog for them to do that, but anything is possible. I don't think the Sixers will go that way with nice young players on the bench that are capible of becoming everyday players (Iguodala, Korver, maybe Salmons) and with a free agent year next year full of young talent I don't think they will take a shot at Big Dog. Kenny Thomas can also play some SF so maybe if we just let Big Dog go we can go with a lineup of: Iverson, Green, Thomas, Skinner/Jackson, and Dalembert? If Big Dog gets back into the shape that he was in when he was a Buck even a Hawk it would be nice. He would add a nice jumper and FINALLY a 2nd option to Iverson.
Yeah I remember when it was like one of his games from being back for the early 03-04 suspension, he was doing great on both ends. It will be very intresting to see what Big Dog can deliver this season.

For all his defensive efficiencies, Robinson is one of the best options you'd probably have if you want the ball in the basket. To add to his scoring, Robinson is money anytime in mid-range; the guy is arguably the best mid-range shooter in the NBA. Don't hate him for what he isn't, admire him for what he is.
I last year's season was just Blaah, for Glenn and I hope it doesn't carry over to this season. But I won't be suprised if it does.
