<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">In other words, I was saying that it more than likely wouldn't happen. Shaq was kicked to the curb deservingly, and by Buss and Kupchak, not Kobe.

I don't understand why people blame Kobe for it. Didn't Shaq leave Orlando with nothing? He walked out. Shaq is not perfect...nobody is. If I were the GM, I would've traded Shaq for the first decent center to come into my office, whether it was Dampier or Nenad Krstic...and that's because Shaq was a cancer these last two seasons. What do you do with your 1997 Eclipse when your clutch is about to go out, and your timing belt is about to snap? You sell it to someone, but paint it first to make it look nice...and that's what the Lakers did. Stats were nice...sure, the Eclipse was running good for a little while, but then it was a near $2k to fix it.

I hope the Heat can fix Shaq...but I doubt it.

You know, it was only a joke, but a good analysis nonetheless. :P

Back to the issue about Peja. I am a Kings fan and I personally don't think that it would work out with Peja going to the Lakers. I don't think that the Lakers would do any better having Peja rather than Odom. Anyways, the Kings are not going to give up their Franchise Player. The Kings future is in Peja's and Bibby's hands, and neither one of them are going to be dealt away [IMG] . The Lakers would be much better with a young center who could complement Kobe. This is Kobe's Team, so they need a C or PF that is a good defender, rebounder, and passer, not a scorer!

BUt now you have a volkswagon that likes to run by itself. It locks the doors so you cant get in.Yeah, the chassis moves strong..... but no other cars want to park by it. It buys it's passengers nice ornaments to look good but they have to sit in the back seat if they can even get in. It is moody and sometimes refuses to run for an entire 48 minutes on national tv. This volkswagon's worst feature though, is the engine, it runs like the tinman, if it only had a heart. You will miss that eclipse tearing that paint up.

Let me guess...only if you "owned the key", right? Hey, must be a newer model though...automatic locks.

If that was the case, Odom/Butler/Grant would all pull a Sam Cassell and not show up for camp.

This one made me laugh. Shaq, anyone? LOL.

Malone, Kobe, and Fisher all had heart. If anyone didn't, it was the one complaining.

Not after trading it for three newer models that are cheaper, more efficient, and that ran more miles than the "Eclipse" last year...all with cheap insurance and good, separate trade value.

    Okay, no more analogies.

    Well after hearing everybody's take,

Ok, maybe it was idiotic of me to even suggest I have mixed feelings about Peja maybe coming to the Lakers. First and foremost he's Sacramento bait. From everybody that has been here since the beginning of last season understands I'm one of those types of individuals that don't give a damn about how that franchise is run up there, and I show absolutely no love for it's players. (Yes, it'll take me a while before I can accept Divac into the Laker family.) And besides, Peja may be one of the top scorers in the game today and is a sharpshooter at the perimeter, but my goodness he contains horrific defense, hibernates in the playoffs and never comes out and when he does come out of his cave, he chokes which is something I don't have any tolerance for being a Laker fan that appreciates winners not losers.

The Lakers need a point guard and someone to beef up their frontcourt more, and who'd be a better addition than Mike Bibby or Brad Miller? As long as they show me during the regular season why they should be recognized as a certified Laker. [IMG] Of course, if it were to happen.

Well, I respect most all teams, even if I can't stand them...but I choose not to respect Peja's overall game...because he doesn't have one.

Bibby and Miller, like I said earlier, would be nice to have...but I doubt that'll happen. Bibby alone would fill the void...because I feel like we need a PG more than we need a center. Vlade has a year or two left...Mihm is developing, and Grant can play center until we find one...so we are in a decent spot there. However, not having a point guard is just terrible, so that's what we need to look at...not a shooting SF.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Zoltar:</div><div class="quote_post">Hey EMO could you respond to my PM and I think we should get Peja or maybe even a rookie last year because their contracts usually expire then</div>

    Hey Zoltar,

I didn't quite get your PM but after thinking things over, we don't need Peja. This current Laker team as a whole is already stacked at the forward position, and I do understand having a guy that averaged 24.2 PPG and a solid sharpshooter from the perimeter may be sweet, but we obviously don't need somebody that plays average defense and can't do all the little things neccessary to contain his opponent for 48 minutes total. And on top of that, we don't need somebody that's going to be successful in the regular season and hibernate in the playoffs when a team looks for him to lift the team.

Do you have a link saying he doesn't want to play for the Lakers? And I really wouldn't find it farfetched at all since his buddy Divac is with us as well.

I Have heard on sports shows, and from word of mouth that Peja doesn't want to join the Lakers.but nothing to verify that...Yes Peja's buddy Divac is with the Lakers, and if Divac were to stay beyond 2006,than maybe, but honestly i don't see Peja joining the Lakers any time soon.

when u picked apart his statement u left out a question asking does he have proof of the lakers not wanting peja. it seems almost as if u believe that comment without doubt based on your own opinion, yet feel the need to question the latter. i just thought that was interesting.

Well from how his comment was pointed out, it seemed he officially knew about Peja directly saying he wasn't going to play for the Lakers anytime soon, and I just asked if he had any sort of proof to support that. As far as the Lakers wanting Peja in the future, I have no idea. Obviously it was a theory based on Mark Stein about what the Lakers could possibly do in the future when they'd have some cap room to work with.

If it was 2006 and i had all those options of Free agents and from my feelings of what might be possible i would only go after Amare Stoudemire i mean how sick would that be Kobe Bryant Lamar Odom and Amare Stoudemire.
