The Magic have tried to speed up Howard's progress this summer, but they aren't rushing him in his first season. They have even simplified his job description.

"Run the floor. Play hard defense. Block shots," Howard said. "That's it."</div>

He's been playing impressive so far, getting doubles-doubles, in time he should have it all down packed and be a force to reckon with. All in a matter of time.

It's great that he isn't getting alot of pressure put on him, that can ruin some players. If he continues to develop at a pace that he likes, who knows what could happen. I think he is one of the best big men at running the floor. I'd like to see if his defense has gotten any better.

It's great to see one of the most promising rookies learning his role in the team enviroment.

He definately will play a great role in magic winning more than 19 games [IMG]. With a great PG to back you up I think he will do great. I have yet to see him play, but I cant wait to see how the magic play.

Howard is really proving that he's worth the number one pick that he was drafted with. His athlectism really fits him into the Magic's uptempo style and makes him the perfect big man to partner Steve Francis with. IMO, he's already on a higher level than Amare Stoudamire was on when he was a rookie.

Dwight has been playing very well,I'm sure he is playing better then most people would have thought.Even though they are just preason games, they still mean something and can be signs on how he will play during the season. The question is will he be able to keep up his play over an 82 game season?

Just for fun here are Emekas vs Dwights stats so far.

    Emeka Okafor:11ppg,5.30rpg,.5apg 26mpg

    Dwight Howard: 13.3ppg,7.50rpg,1apg 29mpg

Who do you guys think will end up having the better season?

Well Emeka needs to learn to step up. He is on a horrible team. Dwight on the other hand can keep up and have great stats and still have a great scorer etc, on his side. I say Dwight starts out maybe a little slow but turns out to be a GREAT player.
