<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> His talent isn't questioned. It's his determination that leaves people scratching their heads at times.

"Whenever you're not playing as well as you're capable of playing, I think there's always going to be an element of disappointment," Olowokandi said. "Being that I was hurt and I wasn't where I needed to be physically, yeah, sure, you can categorize it as (disappointing). If I could, I would call a press conference and apologize to the people of Minnesota."

"I talked to Michael and told him he has to get off on a good foot," Wolves vice president of operations Kevin McHale said. "He has to be effective in the middle for us to be successful. He has to be able to rebound and defend the way I've seen him do it in practice. Now you have to be able to carry it over to the games so he can be an impact in the paint."

Although he didn't spend as much of the offseason in the Twin Cities as some in the organization would have liked, Olowokandi did work with a personal trainer in Miami. Zarko Durisic, one of the team's scouts, spent a week in Miami helping Olowokandi with conditioning and strength drills on his knees and ankles for three or four hours a day in the Miami heat. Olowokandi also had minor surgery to have scar tissue removed from his left knee.

"A lot of people are saying the offseason was short; the offseason was long for me," he said. "Some of that was necessary."

Olowokandi's offseason workouts have paid off so far because he has participated in every day of training camp without any setbacks besides the normal bumps and bruises.

Olowokandi can't get away with not wanting to start alongside the Big Three this season. The Wolves don't need a lot scoring from him, but they need his rebounding and shot-blocking.</div>

If he can stay healthy I look for him to have a much better season than last year. He missed 39 games last season, and when he did play he only averaged 21 minutes a game. I think his minutes will go up atleast 6 minutes, this season. I think he'll average 8.9 ppg., 7.1 rpg., and 1.7 bpg. IMO he is the missing pece down low for the T-Wolves, and I think they will have a trip to the finals this year. I'm jumpin on the bandwagon.

Plenty of room for another fan.

But, only 6 minutes? I see him getting more of an increase than that. He's the starer. Besides him, at the center spot, we only have Ervin Johnson. EJ can't give as many efficient minutes as he did in the past because of age issues. That's why Kandi was named the starter. And issues did effect the amount of minutes he played. I do see him breaking out and having a better season this year. He will no longer be labeled as a bust anymore.

I meant to say 8 minutes if that makes you feel better. I think the T-Wolves will go after a back-up center, I don't know who, but somebody who can take the ease off of Kandi more then EJ and that's why I say only 8 more minutes.

its time for Kandi to breakout and show the people why he was a number 1 pick. I can't deny the dissapointment i had with him last season, however this indicates he's more determined than he seems. Hopefully he can contribute and like J Roc said, prove that he ain't a bust! coz he certainly looked like one last season.

    He has no excuses.

He's on a team that will allow him to sneak under the radar, with little attention from the opposition.

He needs to be putting up 10, 9 and 2 on this team.

There is no seeking involved, he has to play better.if Kandiman doesnt play better the Wolves have no other legitimate option except playing Madsen at center, which was pretty horrible in my opinion last year, despite the effort Mad dog gave. Realistically, Ervin Johnson cant give the type of minutes he gave last year again this year. I think having EJ be the main backup already puts the Wolves at a disadvantage, but if he has to go back to being a starter like last year, they are really in trouble. He just cant do it...If Kandiman goes down or stinks the joint up, it wouldnt shock me if you see the wolves play Eddie Griffen & KG together along the frontline alot. But they are gonna have alot of trouble with big inside teams. But they could get away with Griffen at the 4 & KG at the 5 against certain teams, but not most. They need Kandiman
