It was nice watching the new Showtime Lakers run it up on the <strike>Queen's</strike> second team last night, but what did you'all think about some of the new guys and returnees. C Butler impressed, as well as Cook, he looked much bigger than last year and if he can carry his game with him against first string NBA players could be a starter at power forward if Grant is not 100%. Atkins looked horrible to me and Bobbit can't make the roster, he looked like a rec league player.
T Brown looked like a possible find as back up point and Sasha has skills, just a bit too much rookie "out of control" play. Mihm was also impressive against a smaller player. I think we need to find a point guard who can play some defense, so far from what I have seen Atkins can't cut it. From what I've seen so far our best line up is:

    Kobe PG
    C Butler SG
    Odom SF
    Grant or Cook PF
    Mihm C
I think this team could play with anyone, but our backups are big question marks [IMG]

The Lakers played some excellent team basketball last night even though Sacramento didn't take the game seriously with the jetlag they were suffering heading back from China but some players that I definitely like heading into this season is Chris Mihm and Sasha Vujacic. Mihm in the last two games has scored double-figures and even though he is somewhat thin at his position, I feel he could help out in a tremendous way and even take Divac's replacement as a starter. Sasha is another guy I'm looking at too. He has a pretty decent outside shot, my only problem with him is he's too skinny and has to go hit the weights. this would be my lineup heading into November 2nd if the consistency stays maintained:

    PG: Vujacic
    SG: Bryant
    SF: Butler
    PF: Odom
    C: Mihm

I Love the New Laker Team.
What in the world is going on with Cook? I thought the guy sucked but he's been impresing me a lot. Oh yeah the Boston trade was good. Mihm got game I love seing him running down the court with the whole team, unlike you know who. I like Brown better then Bobbit but I also like Atkins. I think we got some good backups I think there a bit better then last year.

The team needs to work on rebounding and some more defense.

i never expected Mihm to be this good. if he keeps this up then he could be a starter for this season. and Cook really suprised me! i nver knew he had that kind of game with him.

overall the lakers have a pretty good team. probably deeper than last years team. good game with the kings

Cook was shooting like he was starting and draining everything, i didnt really like him last year since his shot was soo flat, but now he's pretty good and Bobbitt and Brown both can shoot and drive
