Since the site was down while the W's were playing a few preseason games, I'll just give a (very) quick take on some of the games. Oct. 10 GS v. Sac (W 97-79) The W's played in Sac, and for the first game, came out pretty energized. Dunleavy and Davis were especially active in this game, and team actually pulled away in the final quarter. Oct. 14 Portland v. GS (W 71-90) The first "home" game, and another winner. Murphy played very well in this game and Najera was all over the place. Oct. 17 GS v. LA Lakers (L 80-94) The W's lost this one, despite a good effort by Fisher, back in Staples as an opponent. Claxton unfortunately was sat due to injury concerns. Kobe went crazy at the foul line, while Gs went pretty cold from the field, especially J-Rich and Dunleavy, and committed too many turnovers to come back. Oct. 20 GS v. LA Clippers (L 81-96) Fisher played well again, while Dunleavy and J-Rich struggled again. Although Foyle played great at C and Murphy played ok, they were outmatched by backup PF Chris Wilcox, who along with backup F Bobby Simmons and SF Cory Maggette, buried the W's offensively. The W's did pretty well on defense, though, forcing several turnovers and ending up with 11 team steals.

Man Pietrus would have come in handy to stop guys like Kobe / Magette. I saw some clips of Jrich guarding those guys and he was terrible at times.
Oops, my bad. I knew that, too. Montgomery installed a slightly different defensive scheme, too, a team defense. J-Rich is probably having trouble adjusting, although he sure was tentative. Anyone read up on the Nuggets game. I knew they would struggle with this team. Athletic teams we cannot handle, especially on a back to back game.
As with all games, I just keep on a radio or a live updating website. Interestingly, the W's started Najera, though he wasn't that effective. Denver was playing back-to-back too, but they came out with energy and very good defense, forcing turnovers after turnover. Boykins went crazy in the first period, and rookie center Arthur Johnson had a great game with Marin, Camby, and Nene out. Since Denver took out the W's early on, the W's bench got a lot of action in this game, but none really stood out in terms of performance.
Nope. What do you think's going to happen with Jrich's contract status? So far no word on extensions for him and Murphy. They have until the 30th right? I wonder what other free agents we can lock up after this season and if Cohan is willing to go over if we decide to grab a free agent and resign both Murphy and Jrich. If that's the case Pietrus and Biedrens won't be a part of our future. But we've been talking about this for how long now?
I think only Redd (if he opts out) is worth throwing money at. Maybe Joe Johnson. Vladimir Stepania, Tony Parker, and that's about it. If we're going for risky players with high potential I'd say Sagana Diop, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Kwame Brown, Vladimir Radmonovic, Raul Lopez, Samuel Dalembert Or we just wait another year and do the best we can with expiring contract veterans of good character. And that's really about it.... Golden state seems to miss out on the franchise players by a.) picking dumbass picks like Foyle over Tmac, Joe Smith over Kevin Garnett, Todd Fuller over Kobe Bryant. (but we don't need to get into this agian and how the franchise has been tainted because of ridiculous General Managers) b.) We miss the player we want by 1 or 2 picks. like Yao in 2002. I won't knock on Pietrus because I like the kid, but Mike Sweetney would have been the pick we wanted at 11th last year to give us some inside presence. Then we could've used the 11 pick to grab Biedrens as a center (or if we want a point guard go for Sebastian Telfair) and not worry about what to do with Jrich and Pietrus. We could then use Dale Davis and some free agent center instead of Foyle like Oliver Miller or Ken Johnson or put Murphy in at center and sign a shotblocking power forward. c.) we don't grab the player that has the most potential when we do get a top 3 pick. To me Nene, Stoudamire, Wilcox or Caron Butler would've been picks to combat the pitfalls of Murphy/Jamison's defensive game and they would've put up numbers. I'd even take Tskishivilli with the hope he'd become a power forward with 3 point range in the mold of Pau Gasol/Dirk Nowitzki with maturity. But that's just me. I know it's all hindsight but I swear I was most unhappy (and still bitter now) when they called out Dunleavy Jr. on draft night. ugh... I just can't get excited about him because I didn't agree with the pick and he hasn't proven to be a very consistent player thus far. He could score 10 pts a night for all I care just as long as he doesn't take 20 shots to do so and let his assignment go right toward the hoop and either get fouled or shoot a wide open 3.

The things you are saying are valid reasons to be concerned about because the kid has yet to find a niche for himself to survive in this league. This is Dunleavy's year...if he messes this chance up to prove to the league he's a good NBA player, Pietrus will get the nod. The Warriors like Pietrus a lot so you might get your wish CustodianRules and Dunleavy will be shunned to work at Coliseum Burger across the street.
I think he's all hype frankly, another college star that can't transition to the nba because he doesn't have the mentality or the nba body. I've always believed he was drafted partly because of his coach dad and the fact the managers were that desperate to get rid of Jamison and find a quick replacement. I hate hearing how this guy is our future, how he's this great pure shooter, and how we got Montgomery to coach him, and the dude puts up 30% all preseason. As I mentioned before the guy can't shoot even if he has a open shot off a screen or he's all alone in the corner. He just can't handle the pressure. You could build a sturdy house with how many bricks he puts up and I just think its time he starts paying his dues because Pietrus and Biedrens could probably take his job and do it better. He has like one good game every once in a while and then he's back to normal. It's frustrating as a fan.
The Warriors barely held off a late charge by a depleted Clippers team tonight, winning 82-78. The W's made all of their free throws down the stretch, which was nice to see, although J-Rich maybe forced it a bit too much. Murphy has been having a great preseason, and I expect him to continue playing well. Monty has been focusing on his rotation, and it looks like Carroll, Armstrong, and Sesay aren't unlikely to get picked up this season. None of them are getting any minutes, and Monty is already focused on trying to get his system set for the regular season.
Jrich forced it a bit but he also hit some key shots and took over the game and didn't turn the ball over once. I think we would have lost if Magette was in the game.
