I'd prefer that folks use the "other sports" area located at the bottom of the main area, but given that many Celtics fans are also Red SOX fans, I'm going to allow it until the season is over. I think alot of us are going to have a hard time fully concentrating on the C's until the World Series is over.

Please keep it clean and contained to this thread. THANKS and....

Congratulations on making the World Series, and overcoming a 0-3 deficit in the series to pull back four straight wins. Hopefully, the Sox can win it all this year, but the Astros might be a big of a challenge if they make the World Series.

Regardless of whether it's the Astro's or the Card's, I hope we come ready to play and win.

I can't take another series like the last one. There are literally permenant indentions in my carpet in front of the couch where i spent hours standing during the series, cheering my butt off.

Thankfully I can finally wash the clothes I was wearing for every game now. They stink to high heaven. That and my liver can use a few days off. [IMG]

Congraduations Red Sox fans.it's been long overdue.i was so happy that the Yankees didn't get in to the WS this year, esp the fact you beat them at their home turf.how sweet.

It's funny,my cousin who is from NY,and is a Yankee fan, goes to college in Boston, and all of his roomates are Red Sox fans.i'm assuming they gave my cousin a hard time because of last night. [IMG]

Anyways the Red Sox did well in last years off season with getting Curt Schilling, and by getting rid of Nomar.who needed A-Rod anyways [IMG]

So Congrats to the AL Champion's Boston! [IMG]

Not a Red Sox fan, but it would be great to see them win it all after 86 years of waiting.

Boston won't have a good chance versus the Cards. The Cardinals lineup is more deadly than the Yanks, with the 2nd best hitter in the Majors in it. I don't see any of their pitchers getting through that lineup for a win. Schilling won't pitch well against them IMO, but the home field advantage in that game might give them the win, however in St.Louis, the Cards just aren't losing there. The way Pedro is going right now, it looks like the Cards will knock him up in Game 3, and Lowe is anything but conistant, so you can't bank on him giving u the performance he gave in game 5.

Given, that the Cardinals pitching staff is not that experience in the playoffs (Marquis, Suppan inperticular), but they did have the best ERA In the Majors. Marquis is the only starting pitcher that hasn't pitched that well in the playoffs, and he'll likely be up against Schilling in Game 2, which I'm predicting will be a win for the BoSox.

This isn't coming from a Cardinals Fan, so these are not bias comments. With That I said, I predict that the Cards will take the Series in 5, Game 1 W, Game 2 L, Wins in Game 3-5.

Boston really deserved it this year. They played their hearts out.

The series with the Yankees was the best series I've seen yet. Congrats Sox, I'll be rooting for you all to beat the Cards.

Did you guys know that the Cards and the Sox faced each other in the World Series before??

In 1946 & 1967,and both games the Sox lost to the Cards in Game 7.could it be again like this??

But Boston has dominant Pitching on their side, while the Cards have Power Hitting ane great Fielding, while Boston has Power Hitting too,it's really a toss up.

But i have a feeling the Cards will win this in 7 like in 46 & 67.

Game 1 Goes to Boston. 11-9.

Let's keep in mind several things:

    1. The Cards do have a great offense, but so do the Red Sox. Remember who finished an overall second in the league in team offense.

    2. The Sox have better and more experienced pitching.

    3. Everyone consitantly discounts the Sox and thats just the way we like it. (It also helps keep the bandwagon losers away.)

So far the Sox have proven to be Great so far this World Series.now that the Sox are in St.Louis,i expect things to be tougher for the Sox.but if the Sox pitching gets through to the Cards like it has been,it could be a wrap up win for the sox,but somehow i have a feeling the Cards will come back and even things out.Just a hunch.
