Kobe Bryant: 27 min, 5 reb, 14-17 FT, 25 pts Tierre Brown: 22 min, 7-8 FG, 5 ast, 3 reb, 18 pts Lamar Odom: 9 reb, 3 ast, 13 pts Tony Bobbitt: 21 min, 6-6 FT, 4 reb, 3 ast, 13 pts Brian Cook: 3-3 3PT, 4 reb, 13 pts Jumaine Jones: 6 reb, 13 pts Notes... This game was the first one I've watched nearly every second of...and I'm impressed. Jones and Cook are really showing signs of improvement, and Tierre Brown is pushing to make more of his career than a backup to Atkins. However, rebounding and defense is still weak. Vujacic is way too small and has no defensive presence. Odom has found his way into the lineup. Also...Butler left the game with an injury to his hand or finger. Mihm was ejected after disputing a call and picking up two QUICK technicals. Other than that, the bench played great, and Kobe got some rest while the Lakers jogged away with the win. -------------------- Sunday, Oct. 24th Suns 103, Lakers 111 Stats... Brian Grant: 24 min, 10-12 FG, 11 reb, 22 pts Chris Mihm: 20 min, 7-9 FG, 5 reb, 15 pts Tierre Brown: 8 min, 5-8 FG, 1 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 10 pts Notes... Caron Butler played 26 minutes and pulled down 13 rebounds (9 defensive). Sasha Vujacic had 8 assists in 23 minutes of playing time. The Lakers shot 52% from the field for the entire game, yet sent the Suns to the line too many times (55 free throw attempts for Phoenix). Turnovers are still an issue, as the Lakers turned the ball over 25 times. -------------------- Next game: Seattle SuperSonics The stats in red are what hurts my eyes. We need to pass alot more and get everyone involved, especially guys that are SUPPOSED to pass...like Atkins and Bobbitt (get a clue, guys). Shooting is another problem...inconsistency lurks, even from Kobe...but once this team pulls together and shows some unity, we will be one tough team out West.
I just realized Slava didn't play the last two games? Any idea what happened to him? I know Rush got hurt in the first game
Slava Medvedenko has a bruised right heel he suffered last week...but he was practicing yesterday, just limited minutes though. Luke Walton was back out on the court yesterday in practice, also. He sprained his left ankle a while back. As for Vlade Divac, he was running in practice Wednesday, but not practicing. He may be out 2-3 more weeks, and with the season starting up just around the corner, he may miss a few games...giving the start to Chris Mihm, which I may not lose sleep over.

The guy has really disappointed me with his defense, which I already knew from summer league. Almost every guard that he has played runs thru him I don't know if is his weight or he's just not fast enough.
It looks as if he is one step slower than the rest. He just needs to step it up and be more aggressive.
