I Know we haven't had a good pre-season so far as a team.we have lost to the Warriors,Lakers,Rockets and another team or 2,but in my opinion we shouldn't worry now, because most of our starters haven't had much playing time so far. Pre-Season games in my opinion really don't count.as a Kings fan,i'm not really worried, yet.the only time i will be worrying is if we play like this during the regular season. But i'm still confident that we will have a great season for the Kings organzation.so i'm not down and out..yet. Anybody have any opinions on the pre-season so far?
I haven't seen any of the games, but I'm pleased from the results I am hearing about Kevin Martin and others. I am not too happy about the losses though.
kings wont win the championships anytime soon. they're like dallas, no defense. i say get rid of Peja who cant play defense at all, and get rid of the injury-prone webber. The future = Kevin Martin and Darius Songaila. Hes gonna make people be like "Peja WHO?!?!"
I don't care at all about how the Kings to during the preseason because it is meaningless. The only purpose that it serves is to allow the coaching staff a chance to see how i) their draft picks are able to play against other NBA talent other than on the practice court and ii) to give a look to siging 1 maybe 2 free agent camp invitees. They could go 0-8 for all I care, as long as they pick it up when they start to count.
Yea Pre seasons games shouldn't be based on Win/Loss, but rather on how good your team is gelling and which combinations work well with one another. Look at the Spurs... they are 0-3 and the Pistons are 1-3. Does it matter? No. Hey Jtam I think our defense is comming in fine so far. Did you listen to tonights game? It was a blast just hearing it. When you win by 35+ points and limit the opponent to only 8 assists IN THE WHOLE GAME (Stephon Marbury) you had to have played a little defense, even if it is against the New York Knickerbockers. Hopefully they can play defense with that tenacity every night.

Its not anything surprising that everyone wants their team to win even during the preseason. but as has been said so well by those posts above me, preseason records dont mean anything past evaluating talent and lineups.

But last season was one of their last, best chances to win. And get rid of Peja? are u crazy? Integral part of the team who knows the system and produces well within it. Otherwise, somebody enlighten me about Kevin Martin, I am remarkably uninformed about the new class of 04-05. and Darius songaila is the future? notany timesoon, sure hes a solid backup, but give it about....4-6 seasons. EDIT: I remember Kevin Martin now, I remmeber when he was featured in Slam he ewnt to a small college and had the jersey that looked like the lakers. (*it all comes together now)
Well to the best of my Knowledge,I Believe the Kings have lost all of our Pre-Season Games :thumbsdow (Haberingdofdoom:correct me if i'm wrong please) That's ok,because these Exhbitidtion games really don't count.yeah we played lousy this Pre-Season,but i believe we will shine in the Regular Season.so i'm not really worried about it.Despite Ostertag & Christie being injured,i'm not upset about this pre-season.However if we continue to play like this once November comes around, than i'd start to panic ASAP. Lets just hope when November rolls around, things will be just fine.
^i actually think we've won like 2 or 3 so far we'll see who wins between them and the 'fun to watch' phoenix suns
I wouldnt even worry about a team until mid season, take the wolves last year for example. As foolish as he is,Charles Barkley had a semi good point when he said it only matters how they play in the playoffs.
I think the kings were a very good team. they had all the elements they needed. they're window of opportunity has closed though for the time being. I dont see them winning any championships with their current lineup.
and thats why we play the games instead of mailing the results in. you never know how a team is going to do during the season untill they get out there & play
Now the Time that really counts begins now.Lets hope the Kings get their act together, and start to win.
