But we can't single out Melo' for being "unprofessional". There was so much crap going on this off-season it was sad.

    R. White gets arrested for firing guns up in the air.
    Q. Woods gets in trouble for staging dog fights.
    K. Bryant gets accused of rape, and was convicted of adultery.
    E. Robinson goes on strike because he is unhappy.
    K. Garnett puunches Rick Rickert for playing dirty.
    L. James has a kid with a girl he's not married to.
    K. Martin pucnhes Nene in practice.

Now, don't get me wrong, a lot of those I don't consider that bad, like punching or having a kid. But just to prove my point Melo' hasn't been the only one to do something wrong.

There's only one way that we'll ever know for sure if the weed was Carmelo's or not and that's to have the NBA administer a drug test. Whether it's NBA policy or not (I don't know for sure or not) IMO, if you're found to violate criminal law on drug charges, you should automatically be tested.

It's also, IMO, the only way that Carmelo can truly clear his name and prove that the expanation put forth (which frankly, strains credibility), is the truth.

People who smoke weed or use drugs, don't generally just "forget" they left thier stash in someone else's bags, etc.

There have been some reports of Melo passing several drug tests, here is part of an article from ESPN that verifies that.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Recht has also said he received a letter from general manager Kiki Vandeweghe verifying Anthony passed four random drug tests last season and another just two weeks ago. The letter also said tests from U.S. Olympic Committee at the Athens Games this summer came back negative</div>

Which would make NOW, the best time to smoke up. The likelyhood of another drug test immediately is unlikely.

Please take my comments not in the interest of finding Carmelo guilty. I hope he's not tokeing up while playing in the NBA. However, this whole story of a friend "leaving/forgetting" his stash in Melo's backpack simply strains credibility.
