Is looking very good, tonight he had 15 points on 6-9 shooting along with 3 rebounds and an amazing 5 steals in 29 minutes. He will surely be one of the top rookies this year, he certainly looks like Manu of the eastern conference. His abilty to attack the basket and finish is quite a sight.
I went to the Minnesota preseason game, and i came back with high hopes for Delfino. compared to the rookies and contract-hopefuls, he looked like a savvy veteran. his passes are crisp and he's very quick. i'm 50/50 as to whether Delfino or McDyess will be our best bench player.....McDyess should give us great rebounding off the bench, while Delfino will be an exciting scorer (like a bobby jackson). what a good conundrum to have
I like Carlos but I think he will struggle some this comming year. He has 2 habits that LB hates. He likes to gamble on defense and he likes to shoot the three. Given LB's reputation for being hard on rookies, Carlos will find himself in hot water at points this season.
I agree somewhat, his defense has not been as strong as It should be but Larry even stated his defense against the Wizards was much better. Delfino is a good shooter anjd If open he will take it, which Is what Larry wants but as long as he doesn't live and die by the three he should be ok. A guy who can slash and finish like he can, will get minutes
Thats great to hear the Carlos Delfino is playing well. Too bad I cant see him play until the regular season starts. Ive been waiting a while to see him. But 15 points and 5 steals in 29 minutes is not bad at all! Switching subjects real quik, how is Darko doing? Im a big fan of his and I really hope he can step up this year.
I'm excited about Delfino being that offensive spark plug off the bench we really didn't have last year. With his ability to drive I think it will open up the offense for teammates. He might have some NBA growing pangs, but under the tutolage of Brown he will eventually make the correct decisions on the court.
Everybody in Detroit is impressed with Delfino. His acquired skills from playing internation ball stick out, including his excellent passes and driving to the hoop. I believe that if Delfino had enough minutes that he would compete for Rookie of the Year. Of course, since he is on the Pistons, that will not happen. He should still be a great player of the bench giving us some quick points when and if we need them. Hopefully, of course, our offense will progress so that we don't have a lot of offensive droughts.
I hear Delfino is helping Brown set up a continuity offence like Argentina used in the olympics... Crazy...
Yeah, here's the article on that <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After practice, rookie Carlos Delfino appeared to be conducting a seminar with Brown and his staff. He was showing the coaches some of the nuances of the offense his gold-medal-winning Argentine team ran in the Olympics. ?Offense in the United States is usually one play, then you have pick-and-roll and either isolation or post-up plays off of it,? Brown said. ?In Europe, they run a continuity offense where they swing the ball and have other options. I always thought that was great because you get ball movement and everybody gets to touch it.? Brown has been thinking about incorporating some continuity principles into the offense, and he was picking Delfino?s brain. ?Argentina ran some stuff that got everybody involved and utilized perimeter players,? Brown said. ?We were just talking about how they get into it.? </div> Link
I wouldnt be suprised if Brown helped scout him.I have seen some highlights of the Pistons and Delfino and this guy does lok pretty good.He fits the discription Allnet gave him as the "Manu of the Eastern Conference",very very well.
