Luol deng is showing everyone that he is ready for the NBA by leading the Bulls in scoring with 15ppg not superstar numbers but not too damn bad for a guy who was not supposed to be ready to contribute in the bigs. Nocioni has looked equally impressive but I ike how Deng has come into the preseason and quieted his critics with strong play. Now I pose a question asked in this forum previously... Who gets the start Deng or Nocioni? My personal opinion Deng. From the few highlights I have seen his three point shot looked great and he looked much more athletic than he was given credit for. Deng - 15.0ppg 5.80rpg shooting .458 from the field and .615 from 3 Nocioni - 12.6ppg 6.60rpg shooting .438 from the field and .500 from 3 The 3 point percentage will drop but once again not bad for a guy not known as a threat from the arc.
Deng was impressive in the game I saw against my Rockets. If you squint you eyes so the picture is sort of blurry, he kinda looked like a young Michael Jordan with his long arms, bald head, and dark complexion.
What surprised me most was his three-point shooting. He went 4-5 from beyond the arc against the Rockets, which is a big surprise because my impression of him as a Blue Devil was that he was a good mid-range player, but a mediocre player once he steps to the college three-point line. The fact that he's shooting .615 from three in the preseason hints of dedication to improvement over the summer.
