Wallace (Cha - SF) Util A. Kirilenko (Uta - PF) BN B. Gordon (Chi - G) BN D. Anderson (Por - SG) BN D. Gadzuric (Mil - C) Hey guys. Any advice on how i can improve the team or what i am insufficient in will be appreciated. I'm looking for some sleepers to have breakout years, and others that were injured or missed games to play at the expected level. Thanks.
What og15 said - You've got very minimal 3's, and you actually want more points, but you're pretty set as far as blocks and rebounds and assists. I think out of that roster, Stoudamire is the most expendable player, although you could also give up either him or Gasol for good 3 point shooter, like Michael Redd. You could also try to package Gordon and/or Arroyo for a shooter, since you're already set with Francis.
I don't think I can part with Stoudamire or Gasol because my centers aren't guaranteed to get 8+ rebounds because they haven't solidifed their reputations. The owner of Redd is really really high on him and I can't blame him. Do you think a SG like Cuttino Mobley will have another good season with 150+ 3's? I want to package Arroyo and Gordon for Mobley, u think this is fair? Any SG up for good seasons with 3s that i could feasibly get without dismantling the core of my team? Thanks for the help thus far
Mobley will definately get that, he's in Orlando now, it's a free for all for him and Francis, and he'll be launching up his three's. Someone you can get for cheap if you ned three's id Eddie Jones.
I agree that Mobley will have another good season, but you have to remember he has Hedo Turkoglu and DeShawn Stevenson behind him, which could eat into his minutes. (Hedo is an ok option, though I'm not that high on him this year.) If you get really desperate and J.R. Smith gets the start in New Orleans, he's sure to build a solid base for 3 point shooting. Other cheap trade options are Jim Jackson and as was said, Eddie Jones, who's going to get open looks with Shaq crowding the paint. In the Yahoo rankings, Arroyo is near Jones; depending on team needs, an owner might accept that trade if you were willing to part with Arroyo. I like Arroyo, but he's not going to help you substantially in any category other than assists.
Obvious move is to trade one of your PF (i'd go with Amare) for a good 2 guard who dropped 1.5 treys a night at least.
Who do you think will be better Amare or Pau? Will Pau get his 36 minutes or be forced into this 10-man rotation? IF I do decide to trade one of the two, will I be fine with rebounds? I want to get a cheap option for 3s but getting a premier scorer that shoots 3s would be even better. Its just that i don't want to ruin any other categories that i might be borderline on. Thanks for the help thus far.
Hmm, doing a bit of math, you are right to worry about rebounding drops. Right now you're near the top of the league with Stoudamire. I don't other team rosters to compare to, so this is all hypothetical. You have one of the best rebounding guards in Steve Francis (who averaged 7.0 per game before last season, and still 5.5 last season). Most other guards average 3 or so (which is what McInnis and Arroyo will be around). Wallace should get at least 5. Curry and Blount should both reach 6-7 rebounds a game easily. Gasol and Kirilenko will both get 7-8. Stoudamire is your best rebounder, and with him you'll get about 4800. (4550 rebounds is average.) Without him, you could dip down from 9-10 points into 5-6 points (assuming about 4000 rebounds without him, then adding a theoretical guard rebounding total would give 4300). Still, your 3 shooting is pretty bad. Average 3's are about 575. You've got 300 at best. That'll put you near the bottom - 3 or 4 points at max. If you got another 3 point shooter, you'd add about 150 - 450. It'd only raise you 3-4 points. Thus according to my (admittedly somewhat haphazard) math, you'll pretty much go even by trading Stoudamire for a good three point shooter, unless that 3 point shooter is a really good rebounder, too.

Pau has just been given his max contract and Jerry has made it known he is the franchise player so i can't see his minutes being sacrified, in fact i think they'll increase assuming his back is ok. Amare probably has more scope to dominate given his team, but there is also a chance he'll bust. In Pau you have a safe bet, whereas with Amare you have a high risk, high return prospect.
Thoughts on Jason Williams and Mike Dunleavy? Dunleavy had close to 100 3s and jason williams altho limited minute wise had over 100. I'm thinking of offering Arroyo and Gordon for Jason Williams and Dunleavy. The person said he would consider it, should i propose it?
If you could get that deal done, go for it. J-Will has matured as a baller, he will get his assists and treys every night, the only problem is his FG%.
I agree. J-Will has minimal scoring (he barely takes any shots anymore, and half of them are threes - but he makes them at a pretty good clip), but he'll get a lot of assists, above average steals, and very low turnovers for a guard, and he produces in limited minutes - which is actually good because it means lower chances of injury and fatigue. Arroyo will have more scoring, roughtly the same amount of assists and a better FG% but about half the threes. They're pretty even as long as J-Will's health is ok. Gordon has been disappointing so far, though he could step it up mid-way through the season, a la a Gilbert Arenas the first year, when he started at PG. That could be a long ways away, though. Dunleavy is more valuable because he's an established starter and manages decent all around numbers, aside from no blocks.
OK, that didn't work I know im asking alot of questions and i thank you for all the help thus far, i want to win this league badly Someone in the league wants AK47. The guy's team is pretty stacked after a bazillion trades. I think i need to make a move here. I know if i trade AK47 i lose blocks and steals and balanced numbers. I see an opportunity to get Tmac and someone else for Ak47 and arroyo. Is this a good idea, i need the 3s and the scoring... His Team PG G. Arenas (Was - PG) SG T. McGrady (Hou - SG) G J. Stackhouse (Dal - GF) SF C. Maggette (LAC - GF) PF K. Martin (Den - PF) F P. Stojakovic (Sac - SF) C M. Camby (Den - C) C M. Okur (Uta - FC) Util R. Lewis Util M. Sweetney (NY - PF) BN W. Green (Phi - SG) BN A. Houston (NY - SG) BN G. Hill OR Should I propose AK/gordon for Mobley/ZI?
Ok I haven't gotten any trades done, but I apprecaite the help, I just haven't been able to negotatiate anything. I picked up Kyle Korver as a 3-point specialist to add 1.5 to 2 a night. I want to trade Gasol and maybe even Francis for 3s and a solid bigman. I don't know who to target. Any FA's that you won't expect to be picked up please say as well. (i dropped ben gordon because he pissed me off but then the next night he drops 15+ pts, what a bastard) Thanks
Unfortunately both Gasol and Francis are playing below their standards which makes them undervalued. If you want to get the best trade value, you might have to wait until they have a good game. Who you want really depends on who you can get. I try to propose trades to teams who have needs (i.e. who needs a good PG and a good PF? Try to find a team with either a good PG who shoots more 3s but is less valuable in other areas, or something.)
