"According to a Lakers team source, Bryant telephoned Allen days ago and told him, "I'm gonna bust your ass," Full Story at http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...877_soni25.html
I havent heard that one but i did hear ray allen say some very rude and unprofessional comments to Kobe. and whay you ask? It all had to do with Kobe packing him in the preseason game and Kobe answered reporters by saying well settle this on the court so im looking forward to the game today. Should be a good one.
allright, now personal battles are brought into the court. sounds a lot like WWE to me. maybe kobe had vince mcmahon as his anger therapist. lol. seriously, this should be really interesting.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jurassic:</div><div class="quote_post">I am very curious, please elaborate.</div> After the previous preseason game between the two, Ray said that he thinks Kobe will play selfishly and the Lakers will suffer without Shaq. He said that Kobe only seemed interested in his own numbers in the preseason game, whereas he was more about winning. He accused Kobe of unsportsman-like trash-talk in their matchup. Basically, Ray was just speaking his mind and being frank. Maybe he didn't appreciate the trash-talk, and that's why he did that.
Here's what All said. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Allen Takes Some Shots -- at Bryant By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer SAN DIEGO ? Kobe Bryant has been criticized by Shaquille O'Neal and is a controversial central figure in Phil Jackson's soon-to-be-released, tell-all book. Now Seattle All-Star guard Ray Allen has a problem with him. Allen, who went head to head with Bryant in the exhibition opener Tuesday in Anaheim, predicted Bryant would be self-centered this season and said the Laker star might request a trade if the Lakers are not successful within a year or two. "He's going to be very selfish," Allen told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "And he feels like he needs to show this league and the people in this country that he is better without Shaq. [That] he can win championships without Shaq. So offensively, he's going to jump out and say, 'I can average 30 points. I can still carry the load on this team.' "He has the talent, he can do it. But is his attitude going to allow him to take a back seat and let Lamar Odom shine and let Caron Butler have his nights and bring those big guys along with him?" Bryant signed a seven-year, $136.4-million deal in July, but Allen predicted turbulence if the team struggles. "If Kobe doesn't see he needs 2 1/2 good players to be a legitimate playoff contender or win a championship in about a year or two he'll be calling out to [owner] Jerry Buss that 'We need some help in here,' or 'Trade me,' " Allen said. "And we'll all be saying, 'I told you so,' when he says that." Bryant has sidestepped O'Neal's attacks and laughed off Jackson's book by saying he'd rather read "The Lord of the Rings" in one sitting. But he said he looked forward to playing against Allen. "He'll have to see me when we face each other this year," Bryant said. "Let people talk. I don't really care. He'll have to see me on that court, though." The teams play again Oct. 25 in an exhibition game in San Diego. They play four times in the regular season. Bryant scored 15 of the Lakers' first 20 points and finished with 35 points on 13-for-21 shooting in Tuesday's 87-80 Laker loss. Allen scored 25 points on 10-for-22 shooting and was unavailable for comment afterward because he was suffering from a migraine and an upset stomach. Allen's comments appeared in Thursday's editions of the Post-Intelligencer. Allen and Bryant were both drafted in 1996, a main reason Allen thinks Bryant tries to turn their games into one-on-one battles. Allen has prevailed at times, but Bryant has maintained an overall edge. On one play Tuesday, Allen stole the ball from Bryant near midcourt, but Bryant recovered in time to block Allen's shot on a breakaway. Bryant glared as Allen fell to the floor. In another sequence, Bryant hit a three-point shot over Allen, and Allen answered with a three-pointer against Bryant. Bryant then made another three-pointer, bumped into Allen near midcourt and started talking. "I think he talks because he feels like he has to talk," Allen said. "He's out there playing, and if he does something good, I feel like he needs to pat himself on the back because to me, it seems like he's isolated out there. As much as it's five on five, I don't see much camaraderie going on out there with his teammates."</div>
i totally agree with allen. It seems to me like kobe can never shut his mouth on the basketball court. Wether its a layup or a mid range jumper.. he talks about how good he is while running back down the floor. Why would Kobe be so upset when he was the first of them to give cheap elbow shots.. Let kobe make threats all he wants, im sure his ego got a slight sprain when he realised they actually lost the preseason match 87-80 and Allen played nowhere near the minutes kobe played. I hope the Sonics win again today (even tho its only preseason) because i totally see ray allen's view.. of Kobe Bryant being selfish AND the lakers suffering without Shaq. Do ya thing Ray Ray!
whoever is watching the game, please post in here about the game after its done. i m interested to know what they did.
So what if kobe talks, and i'm not taking sides. I'm just saying, that players talk ish, they always will and always do. Jordan, payton, a lot of great players talk trash. It almost goes along with the game nowadays, but hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and i hope they get up for their games, it'll make them all the better.
And now today Ray has an 'injury'. What a little girl. Same crap as T-Mac... Hm, they both used it to get out of hectic situations, didn't they?
Damn, Kobe has one big mouth. He never shuts it up, and now after he himself got Shaq out of L.A, he thinks he's the best player of all time. What's next for him to say. I am better then Michael Jordan. I don't think he used his injury to get out of it. He's not that type of guy.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Damn, Kobe has one big mouth.</div> ..and you people think Shaq started the fued (ha!) If Kobe is smart he learned himself a lesson. Keep quiet when you are ahead. No doubt hes a good player, I give him that, but there comes a time when you need to keep your mouth shut, and obviously he hasnt learned that one yet, so we will see how many fights he gets into when the season starts.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting S.Livingston14:</div><div class="quote_post">Damn, Kobe has one big mouth. What did Jordan, and bzillion other players do...Yes even Bird and Magic... Well, we all witnessed that Kobe is sharing the wealth as the young dudes are blowing teams out while Kobe's chillin' not worrying about a big ogre screaming in the middle. The team hustles, have a pretty good up and down game, and seem like a team. They laugh and give each other props, unlike the previous Laker years The future looks bright with this depth team, full of much potential. They look better than last year 4 sure. Sasha, Brown, George, Butler, Odom, Grant...they are all dope... Kobe only played like 9 min. last game, only hitting one shot. The guy who was really immature, was Paul Peirce AKA the Truth, tellin' the bench to sit down...brahaha... Its a sport, its just 2 great players yappin' thats all, it makes it more interesting. "Ill bust ure ass"...haha thats dope..on the cellie...even more dope Just have fun, and watch the Lakers prevail victorious. Ray Allen said last year that he didnt know what all the big deal was with Kobe, and that they both came in the same year. He's always been like that.. On ESPN the dude was joking that Ray Allen sat out cuz he didnt want his ass busted. Thats wrong for Ray Allen to critisize even before the season started. That's like totally disrespecting a player right there, it's like saying "LeBron aint gonna do shit, bla bla now that boozer is gone...he just a kid, etc."...Yes they are more and better examples but Im on the fly.
