Noone has posted this, so I will.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If Ray Allen were more succinct when answering questions, his friends say, then perhaps the Sonics guard might avoid uncomfortable confrontations like his one tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant.

But Allen is anything but succinct, and his comments after Seattle's only exhibition victory two weeks ago, in which he questioned Bryant's leadership, enraged Bryant to the point where he issued a somewhat amusing threat.</div>

What's this Mr. Ray? You started the trash and now you're going to avoid it? Kobe's in the game and Mr. Ray flees the arena yo !

How did Ray Allen start the trash talking? Kobe started in the game against Ray: staring him down after blocking his shot (which was right after Ray stole the ball from Kobe), talking trash throughout the game, bumping into him. Afterwards, Ray was asked his thoughts about Kobe and the Laker's future. He gave an honest answer (Kobe is selfish, not team-oriented, and the Lakers will suffer without Shaq).

And why should any NBA star play in a preseason ROAD game if they have some slight back spasms? It would be pretty stupid of him to further aggravate his back in a pointless game simply because Kobe is playing on the other team.

Weren't Ray's comments about Kobe made before their first preseason game? I think that's why Kobe was so focused on beating Ray's ass so bad in that game.

My understanding is that it came after the first game.

    Edit:
According to this article, he said it the day after: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6258320/

It's popular to take shots at Kobe now. Just add Ray Allen's name to the list.

Why should this little scuffle even matter? This is preseason. You call Ray Allen a punk because he sat out with his respective injury? This is why we call it the preseason. A chance for guys to have an opportunity to have a roster spot to land on the team. I'm sure we've never heard of Neil Yanke, Ike Nwankwo, Jerry Dupree, and Nate Johnson right? Players that want an opportunity to make the team, so you play the starters for 20 minutes a night and let the reserves do all the dirty work. I really don't care about the speculation going on with Kobe and Ray during the preseason. These guys will go head to head about four times this year, let them settle it during that time.

It actually didn't matter at first but Ray Allen made it matter. First, he started it and then backed away from it. I don't think Kobe is a jerk, he only had to respond to those comments by Ray. He's darn similar with his airness MJ, who always hunted for reasons to find motivation. This is one of the traits a great player must have.

You guys are making this whole situation just too complicated. Ray Allen is just mad because he has lost his hair. Ray Allen was cool until about 2 years ago his hairline began to become transparent, now its just gone. Hes frustrated and depressed over his hair loss. Relax Ray Kobes hairline is jakked up too. LOL!

Ray Allen is a decent player. But anyone one with common sense would agree Kobe's a hell of a better player than Allen. And who is Allen to question Kobe's leadership during the preseason? He hasn't seen him play with his new team in a regular season game, the two are much different.

Kobe will do the best he can. I predict he will be able to lead the new Lakers to at highest a 4th seed. Allen and the Sonics? They may be my hometown team, but lets be honest, they"ll be lucky to make the playoffs.

I know Ray Allen fans that say that he's ignorant for challenging Kobe, also. Why is it just "Kobe fans" that are hilarious?

I wish JBB was around back when Jordan was 26 years old. I'd like to see how many guys actually talked trash about him and his fans.

Because Ray Allen fans arn't biased. They know he's acting childish. Don't even try to defend what kobe-360 said, because you can't.

I love Kobe's game and I'm glad he's a Laker but...cmon. If Ray Allen, Shaquille O'Neal, and Phil Jackson all say similar things about your selfishness...it's probably true. I don't know Kobe so I dont know for sure, but he does seem pretty childish sometimes.

What if Kobe DID start it all? There's a lot of things that we can't hear during the game, you know... And I don't expect Ray Allen, Mr. Professional Business Suit-Type Guy, to really take shots at Kobe for no reason.

I'm not paying attention to any other posts. All I'm saying is that I really dislike it when people try and make it out to be a bad thing to be a Kobe fan. We are biased, we are hilarious, we are ignorant...it's getting old, really. Should I go criticize Hawks fans for believing that they'll make the playoffs this year, or Grizzlies fans because they think that this is their year to make it to the Finals?

A true fan stands by his team no matter what. A true fan believes what others believe to be the impossible. I see absolutely no reason to call us biased or anything else, because we are FANS, just like every single member on this website.

If Ray Allen took shots at your favorite player, I'd expect you to be angry. Ray Allen is NOT on Kobe's level, and almost every fan can admit that (Laker fan or not). Maybe kobe-360 is saying that he doesn't care much for Ray...in other words, in his opinion, he's no good.

I don't see any reason to come in here and bash Kobe Bryant fans. We really don't care what Ray does, because he's worthless to our success. If he wants to run his mouth, that's fine...but we'll be expecting nothing more after Kobe shuts him up. Simple as that.
