<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Interesting survey, I'm actually shocked to see T-Mac ahead of KG at the SF spot. After all KG is the reigning MVP and does everything for his team, including leading them deep into the playoffs last year. KG can also play all five positions. </div>

KG's votes were split between PF and SF, and that hurt him. I'm not particularly surprised, actually.

I'm not. No GM in his right mind would say that Iverson is a better PG than Kidd or SG than Kobe. If 1,000 NBA fans were voting, he might get some votes from his fans, but no one who knows something about the game would do that. Particularly after last year, which was one of his worst.

I think KG received less votes than T-Mac simply because the 3 is not his natural position. A small forward is supposed to break opponents off the dribble for a pull up or slash to the hoop for dunks or layups. While KG's got a handle I don't think he's that quick enough to beat opponents off the dribble the way T-Mac or Vince would do. Anyway, his natural position is a four.. I mean if I owned a team and had KG on it... I would make sure KG play at the 4 because that's where he's most effective. So I don't think it's an overstatement to say that T-Mac can do a better job at the 3 than KG.

Iverson is all about Heart. But skill level, I dont think he is as good as Kobe or Kidd either.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">Yep. The only real competition he has is T-Mac, and after last year no one would put T-mac over him.</div>

I think this survey has nothing to do with the player's team record here. It's not like MVP, but it's about who can play those five positions the best. If it was to include the Ws, it better mention Jermaine O'Neal at the 4 as we all know the Pacers finished with the best record last year. So, the Magic's poor record last year isn't good enough a reason that T-Mac wasn't mentioned at the 2 spot.

T-Mac pretty much mailed it in, effort-wise, though. And when you're the star player on the team, your team record should reflect on your performance. There was a drastic dropoff in his game last year compared to the year before. After the 2003 season, maybe 4 or 5 GMs would have put T-Mac over Kobe. After last year, I can't imagine any GM picking him over Kobe as the better shooting guard.

^ Durvasa, again if you said that wins are important what do you think of Jermaine O'Neal not even being mentioned at the 4 spot. The guy finished third in MVP voting last year, arguably was the best player in the East. If wins are so important, how could they forget about the Pacers' 61 wins? Well, of course both Duncan and KG's teams finished with impressive records too, but not even a slight voting percentage given to O'Neal (e.g., so-so Knicks' Marbury got 4.8%) when wins truly matter just raised my eyebrows.
