I don't think I'm hating so much. It's more like ranting out of passion for loving my team and wanting them to break the playoff drought. Obviously I want to see Dunleavy live up to his draft status and my expectations of a first round, third overall draft pick but I just don't think it will happen. He's not that type of player he was in college now that he's in the nba.

Personally, I think it's okay to criticize the moves you don't agree with because obviously a good fan never agrees all the time about certain moves made, but we don't stop watching because of it. Now I hope nobody is comparing me to haters of Chad Ford caliber, because that's a real hater. Give the team some props for trying hard last year and playing undermanned and our top two scorers missing (Arenas / Jamison). My complaint about Dunleavy is even though last season was his first real season, he still took open shots he couldn't make when he had plenty of space and time to get a more comfortable shot off. He would still settle for 23 footers and 3 pointers and would always draw iron. That frustrated the heck out of me. It wasn't until he started playing point guard that he actually provided a weird, but awesome mismatch that required Pietrus be placed on the floor to guard the point guard and Jrich to be the 3 spot on offense. But when we play our normal rotations he's virtually useless. That's just my opinon and I'm sure several fans agree that they want to see the results than the potential.

I am not the most fond fan of Dunleavy as a Warriors fan. I think a lot of it has to do with the Warriors basically giving Dunleavy the starting SF spot without any competition. I also don't like how the Warriors seem to be in love with Dunleavy even though I don't believe he has deserved that amount of love that he's gotten. Also the thing about JRich is that he's shown that he can score a lot more times than Dunleavy has. JRich has shown the ability to score from almost every spot on the floor. Also JRich is younger than Dunleavy.

I think the players I like on the Warriors are the players that have come in and earned their starting jobs, such as JRich over Larry Hughes; Murphy over Fortson; Speedy over NVE; Montgomery over Musselman. I am not crazy about the Warriors giving up starting spots for undeserving or proven players. That goes for Foyle over Davis or any other center, Dunleavy over Jamison or Pietrus without really letting them compete for a job(granted Pietrus is injured right now).

Also another thing about Dunleavy is that he has had big shoes to fill. Jamison was let go because he wasn't the player that would lead the Warriors to the playoffs, and basically having Dunleavy come in and take his place along with NVE and some scrubs, you are basically saying Dunleavy and NVE and the scrubs will make the Warriors a playoff team.

I was also against drafting Dunleavy because basically I didn't see much out of him in college. He was basically just the 3rd or 4th option on those teams, and he never seemed like a great threat. I was for Nene after everyone was wanting a legit center after being upset with Damp and Foyle. I also wanted Nene after hearing Gooden call Nene a beast during one of the workouts, along with a few other reports I read on him. But that's the past I suppose. However I suppose the present isn't going so well for Dunleavy either. I hope he turns it around.

I think the same way. I have most of the tapes from last year and yes MDJ (Missing Defense / Jumper) is involved in a lot of plays like passing, creative ballhandling and important offensive rebounds, but he's also in some of the worst turnovers, the worst plays where gets taken off the dribble or lit from the perimeter. And let's not forget the wide open shots... It was like watching Jrich his first three years without the dunking to keep your satisfiedd. Yes, I maybe be biased, but I felt in '02 we should have gotten an athletic power forward and in 2003, I felt that the Custodian should have gotten the nod to start when he showed great consistency. Even though he gets a little foul prone and overzealous on defense, here's a guy that hustles, has his jump shot down, will pump fake his way to the foul line, won't always settle for for the long range jumper, and he's a good bounce passer. Plus I think a couple times he even hustled fast enough to run with Jrich for a fastbreak dunk or layup. Give the starting spot to the guy who wants to make his team better all around, plays with heart and does his job well even if he is a non-guaranteed training camp invitee. The starting spot shouldn't go to silverspoon fed rookies who haven't earned their way into the lineup. Murphy's a starter, Jrich is a starter, Pietrus should be a starter very soon, Speedy is a starter, but I just don't know about Dunleavy. He has to find a niche that makes his team better in other ways like ... scoring. And then he should be a starter. He can't go into a game and get 16 pts one night and then get 8 points for the next 5 games. That's why I think our 3 pick should have gone to someone that can make a difference inside or on the break. Nene, Wilcox, or Stoudamire would have at least give you that (despite their rawness), then you can get rid of the tweener in Antwan Jamison and then sign or trade for a small forward that can handle a motion offense and play defense. I had a list of suitable free agents in that year...
