<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA - Jim O'Brien essentially gave everyone a chance to play and show what they can do in the 76ers' first six preseason games. He's planning a much tighter rotation during the final two games in preparation for the Nov. 3 season opener in Boston. With backup positions still being contested and at least one starting spot unclear - O'Brien said he knows who he'll start at shooting guard, but won't say because he hasn't told the players yet - there is a great deal to play for tonight against the visiting Jazz and Thursday at New Jersey.</div> Link Could he actually start Andre and let Green back him up?McKie would be Iverson's backup at PG and play alot at SF also. I still see Green starting as he's supposed to be our best three point shooter according to the article and AI seems to be OK with Willie.
willie as our best three pointer??????????????????????r u crazy???kyle korver and josh davis r both good at 3's?
Willie will start, but not because he is our best 3-point shooter. He isn't. He will start because he attacks the basket and runs the floor well. He also plays good D. He also shoots pretty well from the floor. Igoudalla will not start because he is a rookie and he hasn't shown enough to warrant a start. OB would not want to start the season with a hugh "boat rock" like that. There is plenty of time to get Igoudalla into the game without starting him.

I also came across, this article at benmaller.com. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Allen Iverson, the Sixers' superstar, is the only starter virtually assured of playing 40-plus minutes a game, according to Jim O'Brien. The other four starters should not get comfortable because the coach says he will "change lineups based on guys doing better." "The team we're starting out with as starters might not be the starting team a week and a half into the season," he said. O'Brien has settled on his starting five for opening night. He hasn't told those five who they are yet.</div> I am not sure if I like this idea that much, you cant just start the people who are having spurts of good games. The team chemistry will be weird if there are often different starters.
I just read on Yahoo that Dalembert and Robinson lost their starting spots. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">O'Brien named veterans Aaron McKie and Marc Jackson and rookie Andre Iguodala to the starting lineup. McKie beat out Willie Green to be the starter at shooting guard, Iguodala gets Robinson's old spot at small forward, and Jackson takes over from Dalembert at center. </div> I guess he'll see how this goes and change it as they learn his system.

I guess Iguodala is really impressing coach. I thought Jim O'brien was going to start Green, Robinson, and Dalembert. I think we were all wrong on this one. Robinson and his big salery can take a SEAT!
I kinda like this idea..because if a player steps up he should be awarded for it and i think its good to see iggy and others getting to to start...Hopefully we will win tonight against the jazz with that line up
I am very dissapointed in are opening day starting lineup. It just doesnt seem right,Sammy D is suppposed to be are future center and I think benching him at this point will ruin him.Dalembert is still developing so maybe thats why he isnt starting,Jackson is at most a role player and I dont think he can could support us at the starting spot. Willie Green was really hyped up during the offseason and Obrien made it seem like he was starting, who would have though A.Mckie would have beat him out for the starting sg spot.Imo,Mckie is a very solid 6th man and thats where he should stay. For the last suprise.Iguodala starting at SF,I really think this is a good move,Iggy has been working hard and I wasnt suprised he beat Robinson out for the SF spot. His energy will start the Sixers off and Robinsons shooting will probaly finish the game. But how is G.Rob going to except this?He has been a starter for most of his career and this could cause some problems with the team and its chemisrty.I suspect a trade demand or something out of Glenn Robinson. Could this also mess up the talks of a contract extension with Samuel Dalembert,I hope it doesnt and I bealeive he will be starting eventually.
