I think that if Marcus Fizer his almost 100% recovered from the knee problems. And he has a good workout or too, I say sign him. This late in the offseason, he wont cost that much,so sign him to a cheap 1 year deal.

Iam not sold on Brian Scalibrine or Eric Williams as the starters over an 82 game period. Those two would be huge pluses off the bench. But we just dont have the type of center that lets us get away with going that small at the 4 spot. And still being competive on a night to night basis. If we sign Marcus Fizer, we can start him off in a backup role. And as he gets better & stronger, his minutes will increase. And he would more than likely take over as the starter given time.

Marcus would be a great addition to the team. He's a determined player who's toughness will definently help the team. He won't be a replacement for Kenyon, but at least he's something. He's a great role player, too.

Given the Nets roster you'd have to look at him, but i think there are areas of greater need.

Like what? our 4 spot is the weakest link of the team ,right now. Our two guard was a major concern but I think that after watching the preseason some of the concern has been lifted to a certain degree. I like what I have seen from the combination of Ron Mercer & Rodney Buford. Neither one is great, but I think combined that become pretty solid at the two. Our point guard position is suspect with Zoran right now, but he has definately improved his skills as a point guard from last year. And you know its only a matter of time before Kidd returns.

The Small Foward Spot is the strenght of the team with Richard Jefferson and Eric Williams, would probably move back to the backup SF, once Fizer comes aboard. And at the Center we have JC(playing for a contract), Aaron Williams, & Zo/Nenad Krstic. Its not great but thats alot of body's to throw at teams at the 5. So that leaves the biggest hole being at the 4 spot, periemter shooting is also a major concern but there is nothing out there on the market to solve that problem.
