Mavs win vs. Kings The Mavs future looks bright! Mavs win versus Sacramento minus 3 starters 112-93. Dallas played great today minus 4 key players ( Finley,Terry, Daniels & Stack) Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points (11-for-16) as the Dallas Mavericks pummels the Sacramento Kings 112-93. The Kings missed Christie & Ostertag. Rookie Devin Harris & Josh Howard had 24 points and 21 respectively. Erick Dampier finished with 15 points & 15 boards. Sleeper Dj Mbenga only played for 5 minutes (maybe a game opener strategy.) I think the Mavs could only get better. The Future looks bright for dallas when all the key players come back to form. See a better Mavericks team in 2 months.
Yeah it was good to see what we have been hearing for the longest time: That Harris can produce right away, Dirk is healthy and playing the best ball of his life, and Dampier can give us that inside presence that we need. I like what i saw, but this was just one game. We can only hope for the best though.
I must say I'm surprised. I thought with the loss of Steve Nash to free agency the Mavericks will be terrible. Guess I was wrong. But then again it's still preseason. The mavs did afterall lose to the Knicks(I think it was Mavs but it could have been the Jazz or both). Doesnt mean all that much.
It may not mean much today but, I expect to see a better Mavs team play in two months or so. They have the talent, Depth & size, hopefully they'll gel quickly enough to get the respect thay deserve.
