Yesterday's preseason game against the Timberwolves showed that the Pistons could really do some damage against the league by the way they ran their offense and defense. In the first half, they played more like the Nets getting easy steals and converting them into fast break points, but later on in the game, the team broke down and started playing into the half court set and looked confused defensively and offensively. ESPN happend to show a replay of when Hassell ran a high pick and roll with KG and Rasheed left Garnett to cover for Hunter, but went back to guard his man leaving a wide open three. I saw little mistakes thoughout the whole second half and it just happend to create one mess. I hope Detroit can get things together before Tuesday.

I also saw mistakes throughout the whole game with the exeption of the 1st quarter. I was rooting against them so i'm glad they lost but you Pistons fans shouls be concerned. Kg sat out most of the game plus cassell and spreewell didn't even play. They basically got beat by role players, I think that game was great but they do need to get things together before tuesday.

It's called pre-season for a reason, Larry Brown ruined the Pistons flow which is why they looked a little lost in the 3rd. He left the bench on way too much in the 2nd quarter and the starters didn't look the same. When the starters were on the whole quarter they pretty much looked very shape. I've also noticed how they don't play that hard in pre-season and havn't done so at all. When the real games start I doubt they will be concerned.

People who get concerned over pre-season games are not smart people in my opinion.

I'm not concerned even slightly, number one its preseason. Number two the Pistons have always been very streaky, at least in the Ben-Rip-Chauncey era. Sheed is wicked out of shape right now, looking puffed up like the Michelen Man out there... Parker, Dupree and Jenkins played too much, Elden and Carlos didn't play at all.

It was the first game that the starting 5 actually started, and they kicked ass until Sheed got tired.

One game doesn't matter at all, especially one preseason game... if you know anything whatsoever about this team, you know they'll recover... and they won't start playing their best ball until near the end of the season, after the media has completely written them off.

Oh yeah, a true Pistons fan here. [IMG]

I'm not concerned. As everybody else has said, it is preaseason. We were just trying some things out, playing a bunch of our role players.

Also, AA13, not to call you out or anything but KG played 33 minutes, more than every Pistons started except Rip who also played 33.

Anyways, point being is that with our starters we played very well and with our bench we played poorly. Again, it was preseason and there were some guys that won't play large amount of minutes in the season.

I'm not worrying about it. We always start off slow and gain speed later on in the season.

I know it's the pre-season, but I remember when 'Sheed sat down to talk after the game against the Jazz, he said the last few games is when they start playing hard to get in shape for the season. Thats the only reason why I was a bit concerned when the Pistons looked like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off Friday.

When you said they only play hard when they get slammed by the media isn't really that accurate when you talk about this season. I think the Pistons are a bit sour after hearing all the excuses the other teams put up after the Finals. Hopefully that can fuel the Pistons to stomp on the league like last season.

Too much celebrating and happiness. Hmm.. Maybe its getting to them anyways well see what happenes when the season starts. As many analysts said when you win a championship you have to come out the season after and either improve yoorself or go down the drain.

They are either going to have a much betetr record than last year or are going to fall apart as a team theres no staying the same. Especially with all the Egos of theese players getting bigger and bigger. You cant say they havent I mean cmon.

These are the same "experts" who first said the Pistons wouldn't beat Indiana, and then said that the Lakers would sweep the Pistons, and then said that the Pistons would be too crushed after game 2 to win again. The same people who said the Pistons don't have a goto guy (actually they have 3) and said that Sheed would have to get 20 a game to get past New Jersey.

Your typical NBA cliches don't apply, the Pistons are the Pistons, they will play Pistons ball and not worry about what the world thinks of them...

Pistons will either be even better than last year or the same, they won't go down the drain as you seem to put it. As for the ego's, the Pistons don't have any ego's. Larry Brown will make sure of that.

No, that isn't the deal. The Pistons don't have drama like the Lakers had. The whole Pistons roster except for about 3 players have been shipped around though several teams, so there's no way possible for any of them to be arrogant.

The Pistons take the media as constructive criticism, even though that wasn't the intended purpose of the writers.

i'm not worried at all right now.

like allnet said, it's preseason for a reason. our bench players are still getting huge minutes....minutes they won't really be getting during the regular season.

smush parker hasn't really shown me that he can run our offense. he's athletic and certainly can score, but during the minnesota game he had too many turnovers in a short amount of time. today is the deadline and we'll know if smush makes the team or not.

like i said, i'm not worried at all at this point.

ur sayin that the pistons have egos? there isn't a chance in the world the pistons ego will rise. the pistons will play their ball and that wins the championship.

Pre-Season. We all know that when its comes playoff time Detroit will be ready to play. THey command the respect this year. They are the defending champions. I hope they bring their best, because thats the way I like teams to topple. Bringin their best games.

I know it's the pre season, but the bench really hasn't impressed me as well as a few minor mistakes. Tuesdasy's game will tell.

Pistons 1-0, I'd say after seeing last nights game the bench couldn't get any better for the Pistons. Especially with the addition of Defino and McDyess.

yeah given the season has started now, we should start to roll after a few games or so, give them some time to get back into the swing of things. [IMG]
